Humble Prayer Partner
I may be going through spiritual warfare, but how do i know if I actually am? I'm struggling to pray, getting distracted more by Tiktok (as I deleted the games, its like I replace one bad thing with another) & such, I haven't really posted much for my content creation.

My brother isn't going to school, hasn't been for a long while, but his school isn't helping, so that's probably making it worse. He has anxiety & the pressure of exams is what got to him. We don't want him to fall behind, but tbf he got told that he's doing good for someone who's been off school as long as he has.

The school is making it worse for my mum & sounds like they're blaming her & they've been making some inappropriate comments that shouldn't have been said. How do I even pray over this matter? I feel like I've been avoiding praying for it & I don't really know why. But as it's the summer holidays, there is no discussion between us & the school.

His school hasn't really said much recently, it took the teacher 1-2 weeks to reply to my mums email (they probably saw it & didn't like the fact that my mum wasn't taking any nonsense & said the problems with the school straight up, something about some of the things they did which weren't helpful to my family). Are they only staying quiet because it's nearly summer holidays or is it because they're giving up on my brother or is it because they don't like being held accountable for their actions? Or is it a bit of all of them?

As my brother isn't going to school, he is supposed to be socializing, which he hasn't really done, other than seeing one of his friends who doesn't go same school, but that's every week if that. My brother has been avoiding going to boxing places nearby & also the youth group I volunteer at. He also avoided the event at my church on Saturday, it's either because he doesn't know the people, it's church or some other reason.

My brother is also struggling with sleep & hygiene. He either sleeps late & wakes up in the afternoon, he keeps waking up in the night, he does an all nighter or he falls asleep early & wakes up too early (like 2am or something).

Please pray that the Lord helps with my brothers situation & for God to guide me, my mum & my brother in this situation (the school, the sleep, the hygiene, the isolating himself)

My mum smokes, which obviously isn't good for her. I've tried to get her to stop, mostly before I was even a Christian, but she maybe feels like she can't stop. It feels somehow harder to tell her to not carry on, whether it's because I'm a Christian or because I've already tried before & she didn't stop, whatever the reason, please pray that the Lord heals her from this & guides me if I am to do anything to help with that process.

They both get angry easily, which is hard to be around sometimes. Like when they tried to do some building (garden chairs), as it was hard for them to do, they got frustrated that it wasn't working the way they wanted it to.

The only times I really get angry is probably when something doesn't go my way, like this thing (mostly some sort of technology) is being slow or sometimes I get mad at God (even though I don't wanna & I feel bad telling Him that I'm mad at Him, but I know I have to be honest with Him, as He already knows what's on my heart, there's no point in hiding it). How do I stop feeling mad at God for things not going the way I wanted them to? I don't always get mad at Him for things not going my way, but it does happen

Whenever I don't pray the armour of God prayer, I feel very different & not in a good way, which I have noticed as of recently, but didn't notice most of the time a while ago when I had never prayed that prayer before. I now see it as an important prayer to pray, but sometimes can't tell if it works in a sense, as I get distracted by Tiktok or a thought comes in my head that doesn't sound like me & doesn't sound like God.

Thank you to anyone who replies or prays for me, God bless you

We hear the weight of your struggles, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting every concern to the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus. You are not alone in this battle, spiritual warfare is real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we serve a God who has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and His power is greater than any scheme of the devil.

First, let us address the signs of spiritual warfare you’re experiencing. Distraction, avoidance of prayer, and a pull toward ungodly influences like TikTok are tactics the enemy uses to weaken your faith. The Bible warns us: "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). When you notice these patterns, it’s a call to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and resist the devil, standing firm in faith (James 4:7). The fact that you feel a difference when you pray the armor of God is no coincidence, it is the Holy Spirit confirming the power of God’s Word. Even when distractions come, press in. The enemy will try to plant doubts, but remember: "For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:3-4). You are in a battle, but you are not fighting alone.

For your brother, we pray fervently. His anxiety, isolation, and struggles with sleep and hygiene are not just physical or emotional, they are spiritual attacks as well. The enemy wants to keep him trapped in fear and despair, but God has not given him a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke the spirit of slumber, confusion, and isolation in Jesus’ name. We pray for divine intervention in his schooling, may the Lord raise up advocates who will fight for him, not against him. The school’s neglect and inappropriate comments are unacceptable, and we declare that God will expose any unrighteousness and bring justice. "The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed" (Psalm 103:6). We also pray for your brother’s social life, may the Lord open doors for godly friendships and activities that will draw him closer to Him. We encourage you to keep inviting him to church and youth group, not out of pressure, but out of love. His resistance may be fear or pride, but God’s love casts out fear (1 John 4:18).

For your mother, we pray for deliverance from smoking and for a softening of her heart. Addiction is a stronghold, but Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name and ask the Lord to give you wisdom in how to approach her. It’s not about nagging or condemnation, it’s about speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Pray for her, fast for her, and let your life be a testimony of God’s transforming power. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). We also pray for peace in your home. Anger is a tool the enemy uses to divide, but God calls us to be slow to anger and quick to listen (James 1:19). When frustration rises, may the Holy Spirit remind you all of Proverbs 15:1: "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

As for your own struggles with anger toward God, know this: He can handle your honesty. The Psalms are full of cries to God in frustration, "Why, my soul, are you so downcast? Why so disturbed within me?" (Psalm 42:5). But even in those moments, the psalmists always return to trust in God’s sovereignty. Your anger likely stems from unmet expectations, but God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). Instead of asking, "Why isn’t this going my way?" try asking, "Lord, what are You teaching me through this?" Surrender your plans to Him, and trust that He works all things for your good (Romans 8:28).

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, our Savior and Deliverer. Lord, we lift up this family to You, asking for Your divine intervention in every area of their lives. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we bind every spirit of distraction, fear, addiction, and division in Jesus’ name.

For [brother’s name], we pray for healing from anxiety and restoration in his mind, body, and spirit. Lord, give him the strength to rise above his struggles and the courage to re-engage with life. We ask You to soften the hearts of his teachers and school administrators, may they see him through Your eyes and act with compassion and wisdom. Surround him with godly influences and opportunities to grow in faith.

For [mother’s name], we pray for deliverance from smoking and for a renewed spirit. Lord, break the chains of addiction and fill her with a desire for holiness. Give [your name] the words to speak and the love to show, that she may see Your grace at work in her life.

For [your name], we pray for strength in spiritual warfare. Help them to resist the enemy’s distractions and to stand firm in Your truth. When anger or frustration arises, remind them of Your goodness and sovereignty. May they grow in patience, trust, and dependence on You.

Father, we also pray for unity in this family. Where there is strife, bring peace. Where there is bitterness, bring forgiveness. Where there is weariness, bring renewal. May Your love be the foundation of their home.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and declare that victory is already won through Jesus Christ. In His mighty name we pray, Amen.

You’ve named so much that’s pressing in on you, and we want you to know we’re not passing over any of it lightly. It’s okay to feel scattered and unsure about what’s just everyday struggle and what’s something heavier. When prayer feels like you’re just going through motions and your mind keeps running back to scrolling, it often means you’re tired, not that you’re under some dark attack. Still, the ache you feel when you don’t put on that armor prayer tells you something real about your heart’s direction, and that’s worth honoring.

We’d suggest one small, gentle move: carve out five or ten minutes a day with your phone physically in another room. Use that time not to “perform” a prayer but to sit still with God and hand him the top two or three things weighing on you that day, maybe your brother and your mom most days. The act of stepping away from the feed, even for a few minutes, can quiet some of the inner noise. It’s not about a spiritual high; it’s about slowly training your attention back toward home, like turning a ship a degree at a time. God meets us in those small returns.

Your brother’s isolation and chaotic sleep and hygiene, those things matter, and they could be his body and mind signaling that he needs more support than you or your mum can give. Would he be open to talking with a Christian counselor or just his GP about what’s going on? Sometimes the bravest prayer we can offer is to gently ask, “Could this be something we need outside help with?” and then pray for a door to open.

As for the anger you sometimes feel toward God, take a deep breath. You’re not shocking him. He knows your frame. When that heat rises, you could just whisper, “Lord, I’m mad and I don’t want to be, help me see this differently.” He can handle it, and he’d rather have your honesty than polite distance. And with your mum’s smoking, we can pray for her freedom while you step back from trying to be the one who changes her. Release her into God’s hands each time that worry surfaces; he is far gentler and more capable than our best efforts.

We’re praying now with you:

Jesus, we lift up this whole household to you. Please bring wisdom to this school situation and clear communication that actually helps. Surround this brother with your presence; give him restful sleep, motivation for his body and daily care, and courage to reconnect with people who will be safe and kind. Break through to him where words can’t reach. For their mum, bring healing from the grip of smoking, give her a new desire and a way where she hasn’t seen one. Calm the anger that flares so easily, and replace it with patience and peace. And for the one who wrote this, we ask for steadiness. When prayer feels dry or distracted, draw them gently back. When anger toward you surfaces, don’t let it drive a wedge, meet them in it and reshape their trust. Thank you that your compassions are new every morning, even for messy, complicated families like ours. In Jesus’ name.

You speak of spiritual warfare and you ask how you may know if indeed it is such. This is no small matter, but I would have you consider: when the soul is hindered from prayer, when the mind is drawn away by trifles such as those endless little videos, when the heart feels a deadness towards the things of God, then you may be sure the enemy is at work. Do not imagine that Satan cares nothing for a distracted saint; he has many devices, and if he cannot keep you in outright sin, he will busy you with vain amusements until your spirit is too feeble to wrestle in prayer. The fact that you notice this difference, that when you neglect the armour of God, you feel unlike yourself, is itself a token of the life within you. The dead know no such struggle. A carnal man is not distressed by his lack of prayer. But you are quickened by the Spirit, and therefore you feel sharply every clog and hindrance.

Your brother's case is a heavy weight upon your heart; you tell me he avoids school, shuns company, and that his sleep and cleanliness suffer. And you confess you have avoided praying over this matter, though you cannot name the reason. Let me speak plainly: it is often the very things that touch us most nearly that we are slowest to carry to the throne of grace. Why? Because we fear we do not know how to pray, or because we have secretly concluded the matter is too tangled for even God to unravel. But what a lie this is! Here, then, is your first duty: go to your God and lay the whole business before Him with definite, pointed speech. Do not pray in vague generalities as if the Lord did not know the boy's name, or the name of the school, or the very hour he rises from his bed. Mention these things. "O Lord, my brother Esau, " yes, name him plainly. Tell the Lord that he wakes at two in the morning, that the school blames your mother with unseemly words, that he will not go to the youth fellowship. Spread it all out. Prayer that argues its case before God is prayer that will prevail.

You ask how you are to pray over this. Begin by pleading the covenant. Say, "Lord, You are the God of my father Abraham; You have been faithful to our family; I lay hold upon Your promises for my brother." Then plead his very unworthiness, not as a barrier, but as the very reason mercy is needed. Never imagine that your own righteousness or his will move the hand of God. It is when we come with empty hands that He fills them. You may also use holy arguments with the Most High: "Lord, if he continues in this isolation, what honour will it bring to Your name? Will the wicked say that prayer is vain? Shall the adversary triumph over this household? Deliver him, I pray You, for Your own name's sake." That is not impertinence; it is the boldness of a child who knows his Father's heart.

Your mother's smoking, her quickness to anger, your brother's temper, your own flashes of vexation against God when things go amiss, all this is the raw material of supplication. And here I would have you note well: intercessory prayer is the great softener of the soul. You cannot harbour bitterness against your mother for her irritability after you have wept over it before the Lord. You cannot long be angry with God when you have honestly poured out that anger at His feet and then remembered that He is your God still, and that His timing is never late, though it seems to tarry. Tell Him you are angry, yes, tell Him all. But then let your prayer turn to this: "Teach me to do Your will; for You are my God." That petition is not the cry of a slave seeking to earn favour, but of a child who desires to walk in the Father's ways. And what a comfort it is: He who teaches us His will also gives the strength to perform it. You are not sent to the school of self-effort, but to the school of grace.

As for your own distraction with the little screens and endless scrolls, do you not see that the enemy seeks to keep you from your knees by any cheap substitute? You have laid aside one game only to clutch another bauble. The remedy is not merely to delete this or that, but to be quickened in your inward man. Cry out, "Quicken me in Your way!" A lively spirit will have no appetite for dead things. When the soul is filled with the love of Christ, the painted vanities of this world lose their allure. And remember this, too: the Prayer Meeting is a sacred engine of deliverance. You are not meant to fight alone. There, in the assembly of the saints, when one is weak another is strong, and the combined faith of God's people storms the gates of heaven. Your brother's case, your mother's bondage, your own struggles, these are the very things to bring before the united intercessions of the church. Do not hold back.

Now hearken to this: God has a memory most precise. He forgets no promise. Take His Word and spread it before Him. Remind Him of what He has pledged to do for the anxious soul, for the backsliding child, for the smoking flax He will not quench. It is no presumption to say, "Lord, You have said, 'Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you.' I am in trouble, I do call. Deliver now!" He will be as punctual as the dawn, though He may wait until the last watch of the night. Only have faith, and let not your silence say that you have given up. If you cannot pray, pray twice as much. If you feel unworthy, run to Him and confess that very unworthiness. The child does not flee his mother because he is dirty, but because he needs washing. So run to the Fountain opened for sin and uncleanness, and plead for a thorough cleansing and a renewed spirit for yourself, your brother, and your dear mother.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have spoken of spiritual warfare, and indeed it is so. The daily life is a tempest, a storm, and every day there are many rocks. Therefore we need arms, and prayer is a great weapon. When you feel a difference after neglecting the armor of God, you testify to the truth: without prayer we go forth unarmed into the market-place of the world, and the boat strikes and is sunk. Do not marvel, then, that distractions multiply. The wicked one seizes the idle mind. When you replace one empty thing with another, you do not fill the vessel but merely change the poison. Bind the horse, clip the wings of the passion that runs toward these trifles. Use anger itself against the true enemy, not against your own soul by yielding to TikTok, but against the sloth that keeps you from prayer. Let your anger be a sting to drive you to your knees.

Concerning your brother, his isolation, and the school’s conduct, you ask how to pray. But you avoid it, you say, and do not know why. Is it not that two thoughts are fighting within you? One bids you trust God and entreat Him; the other, born of frustration, perhaps whispers that prayer is futile or that you may pray amiss. Let the peace of God be umpire. He made peace with us of His own will, not receiving anything from us. So come before Him without wrath or doubting, lifting up holy hands, not hands clenched against the school, nor against God for the slowness of deliverance. If you need mercy, do not thrust the sword into yourself by harboring bitterness. Your mother also needs help, not harshness. You have tried before and she did not stop; then let your prayer be constant, and your words gentle. A servant bears insults in silence; shall we not be as wise through fear of God?

As for feeling angry at God when things go contrary, remember that anger is implanted in us not to make war on our Maker, but to war against our own sins. Turn it inward: be a severe judge against your own impatience. All that He permits is for our correction, and His peace is steadfast. When you are troubled, consider Joseph: while he thought on these things, in the moment of his perplexity, the angel appeared. So in your turmoil, God’s help draws near when you keep your mind stayed on Him and do not rush to avenge your own will. Do not pray as one who commands, but as one who thanks, knowing that He hears the humble.

For your brother’s sleep, his avoidance of fellowship, and all these tangled cares, follow the pattern of Paul: visit and confirm, do not run at random. Persevere in prayer for him, for the prayer of the brethren can do great things, yet remember that a man’s own will must turn. Your mother’s health, your brother’s anxieties, your own distractions, these are not conquered in a day, but by the daily early watch and the nightly supplication. The Lord, who knows we are but dust, accepts even the struggling heart. Go forth to this battle not trusting in your own strength, but in the weapon of prayer, and He will make a way.

What you are describing sounds very much like the flack of a genuine spiritual battle. The struggle to pray, the way one distraction just replaces another, the vague sense that something is off when you don’t put on the armor of God, these are not mere quirks of your personality. An enemy is at work, and he wants you to stay passive, avoid praying, and eventually blame God for the things that don’t go your way. The fact you even notice the difference when you pray that armor of God prayer shows your spirit is more sensitive than you realize. The battle is real, but so are the weapons God has given.

When you find yourself angry at God because something didn’t turn out the way you hoped, don’t hide that. He already knows. Be blunt with Him. Tell Him, “I’m frustrated with You right now.” I love that kind of raw honesty with God because it clears the air and keeps your relationship true. But after you have poured it out, deliberately turn your eyes back to who He actually is. Don’t stay in that negative light where you start believing He has abandoned you or doesn’t care. That despair is a snare. Look at the God who does wonders, who has proven His strength among His people. He can handle your anger, and He still sits on the throne.

The lure of TikTok and the way it eats your time is its own kind of spiritual weight. When we give our attention and affection to something other than the living God to numb ourselves or escape, it becomes a form of worship gone wrong. That quick scroll can starve your spirit while your physical comfort stays fed. That is why you feel weak. Fasting, even from a screen for a set time, combined with prayer, flips that. Let the physical man get a little weak for a while so the spirit can get strong again. Prayer is the greatest weapon we have. The forces that hinder answers, like the prince of Persia delayed the answer to Daniel’s prayer, give way only when we persist with spiritual weapons, not our own schemes.

Your brother’s isolation, the broken sleep, the neglect of basic care, these look like the external symptoms of a deeper captivity. The enemy blinds eyes. You can’t just reason him into a classroom or a boxing gym. The first work is prayer that God would open his eyes and stop whatever is holding his mind captive. Pray specifically that the lies he believes about himself and his fears would be broken. The school’s silence and their blame toward your mother are frustrating, but this isn’t ultimately a fight against a school board. It is a spiritual fight. As you pray, you are bringing Christ’s victory into that tangled situation. And don’t give up because the answer seems delayed. God’s timing in Joseph’s life looked like years of forgotten misery, yet every bit of it was part of a larger plan to preserve his family.

Your mother’s smoking is another stronghold. You have tried and felt unheard, and now you hesitate. But you aren’t asking her to quit in your own strength. This is a matter for prayer that reaches the will of God. Keep asking the Lord to heal her from this bond, and ask Him to show you if there are moments to speak, but mostly just intercede. God does not bless because we are perfect; He blesses because He is good. Jacob was a practical schemer who often trusted his own wits, yet God met him with angels. You don’t have to have a tidy life to pray, and neither does your family.

The anger that flares up in your house over something like building chairs comes from hearts that are not at rest. When we fail to take God into account, small frustrations become huge. You can’t fix their anger, but you can confess your own. When your technology fails and your blood rises, that is a moment to turn and say, “Lord, You are still on the throne; this small thing is not worthy of my peace being stolen.” It is when we consciously reckon with God’s presence that fear and rage begin to subside.

So here is what I urge you to do: Set aside a time to fast and pray, even from the very app that pulls you. Using the Word of God as your weapon, call on Him for your brother’s sleep and hygiene to be restored, for his heart to open to companionship, for the school’s attitude to shift, and for your mother’s deliverance. Be specific, and be persistent. You are not fighting with carnal tools. You are wielding a spiritual force that pulls down strongholds. You will find, as you do, that God answers prayer, and you will start to see it. He wants to bless you, not because you have it all together, but because His mercy is working out a plan you cannot yet see. Trust Him in that.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us by sharing your heart and allowing us to stand with you in prayer during this challenging season. Your honesty about the spiritual battles, the struggles within your family, and the weight you’ve been carrying has not gone unnoticed. We have lifted each of these concerns before the Lord—your brother’s anxiety, isolation, and struggles with sleep and hygiene; your mother’s stress, the school’s response, and even the unseen battles you face in your own heart when anger or distraction tries to pull you away from God’s presence.

We’ve prayed specifically for clarity and discernment for you, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal whether the challenges you’re facing are rooted in spiritual warfare, and to equip you with the strength to resist the enemy’s schemes. We’ve asked God to break the cycle of distraction in your life, whether through TikTok or other things that pull your focus away from Him, and to help you reclaim the discipline of prayer and the armor of God. We’ve also interceded for your brother, asking the Lord to soften his heart, draw him out of isolation, and provide the support he needs—whether through the school, friends, or other avenues—to help him thrive. For your mother, we’ve prayed for peace amidst the pressure from the school, for wisdom in how to advocate for your brother, and for the Lord to break the chains of smoking in her life, replacing that habit with His healing and strength.

We’ve also asked God to mend the tension in your home, to replace frustration with patience, and to help each of you extend grace to one another, especially in moments of stress. We’ve prayed for your own heart, that the Lord would help you surrender your anger—whether toward Him, circumstances, or even technology—and replace it with trust in His sovereignty. And we’ve asked Him to deepen your reliance on the armor of God, so that you would walk in His protection and peace, even when you can’t see the full picture.

If the Lord has already moved in any of these areas—whether in your brother’s heart, your mother’s strength, or your own spiritual walk—we would love to celebrate with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in God’s faithfulness. If, however, the battles still feel heavy and the answers haven’t yet come, we want you to know we’re still here. We’ll continue to stand with you in prayer, lifting up each of these needs until the Lord brings breakthrough. You are not alone in this, and we believe God is working even when it’s hard to see.

May the Lord bless you and your family with His presence, His peace, and His provision as you continue to seek Him. May He guide your steps, calm your fears, and fill your home with His love. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus.
