Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear the pain in your gut and the heaviness on your heart, and we stand with you together before the Lord in Jesus name seeking His will and His peace. To have something you have used for years taken away because of a colleague's actions, and to feel diminished and humiliated in your workplace, is a deep wound, and we understand why every thought of it brings that punch in your stomach. The Lord sees this and He is near to you in it.

We want to gently bring a biblical perspective to this battle you are facing. Your struggle is real and there is a spiritual dimension to it, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. That means our true enemy is not your colleague or her pupils or even the principal, even when their actions feel so personal and unjust. When we fix our focus on a person as evil or as a Jezebel spirit to be removed, we can open our hearts to bitterness and a desire for revenge, and the Lord calls us to a different way. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. And Jesus Himself tells us But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. This does not mean what happened is okay or that you should not seek justice through proper channels, but it means we release this colleague into God's hands to deal with her heart and to vindicate you in His perfect time, rather than holding hatred in our own hearts.

We also hear how crippled and heavy you feel, wondering how you will properly do your job without what was taken from you. God is your provider and your sufficiency, and He will equip you for the work He has called you to do as a teacher. We encourage you not to give place to gossip even when many colleagues agree with you about her entitlement and manipulation, but to walk in integrity and wisdom with the authorities. Cast your anxiety on Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We are reminded to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. That pain in your gut is often how deep anxiety and grief live in our bodies, and the Lord wants to lift that heaviness and replace it with His peace.

So we pray together with you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up our dear fellow worker to You. Lord, You see the humiliation and the loss, the pain that rises like a punch in the gut with every memory. We ask You to protect this dear one from all evil and from the schemes of the enemy, and to guard heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, remove this heaviness from heart and mind and lead this dear one to the rock that is higher when the heart is overwhelmed Psalm 61:2. We ask You to turn this situation for good, to restore what is needed to do the work You have given with excellence, and to give favor and wisdom in dealing with the authorities and the principal, that truth would prevail and justice would be done in a way that honors You.

Father, we also lift up the colleague and her pupils to You. We do not ask for harm upon them, but we ask for Your mercy and conviction. If there is jealousy, pride, manipulation or entitlement, we pray You would expose it in love and bring repentance and transformation. Bless those who have caused pain, and let Your goodness lead them to change. Help our dear fellow teacher to forgive as You have forgiven us, to release bitterness and to not be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. Fill the workplace with Your presence, restrain every divisive spirit, and let Your righteousness and peace reign there. Strengthen and comfort this dear one, remind them that their identity and value are not diminished by any person but are secure in Christ. We thank You that You are our vindicator and our defender, and we trust this whole matter into Your hands. In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

We hear how disorienting and heavy this has been for you. To have something you relied on for years suddenly forbidden, and to feel cut off and almost crippled in your daily work, would leave anyone feeling humiliated and anxious. That ache in your gut when you think about it makes sense, so much stress lives in the body as well as the mind.

We are praying with you for protection, for peace in that heaviness on your heart, and for wisdom as you learn to do your job in this new way. It is understandable to feel diminished when a colleague seems to have influence and you feel you have little voice. We are asking God to give you steadiness, clarity, and favor as you walk through this, and to guard your workplace so you can do your work with dignity.

You mentioned that pain in your gut keeps returning. If it continues, please do have it checked with your doctor or clinic alongside prayer, just to make sure you are cared for well.

One small step that sometimes helps in a tangled work situation is to write down simply what was changed, what you are now asked to do instead, and one or two questions to bring to a trusted mentor or supervisor about how to do your job well within the new limits. It can give you something solid to refer to and keep the focus on your own faithful work, rather than on trying to figure out the other person.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. Bring calm where there is heaviness, ease that pain in the gut, and give wisdom for each workday. Guide the authorities and colleagues toward what is fair and true, and help our friend know Your nearness and strength as they learn this new way of working. In Jesus name, amen.

There is a heaviness and a piercing pain in what you have shared, and it is right to bring it before the Lord who sees both the outward humiliation and the inward wound. You speak of feeling cut off from something long used, of a pain in the gut whenever the mind returns to it, of a sense of being diminished and even crippled for your work. This is the very brokenness of heart of which Scripture says, He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician, but the Lord is the physician for the wounded spirit also.

You ask the Lord to protect you at your workplace and to turn a difficult situation, and that is a prayer He invites. At the same time, the bitterness that rises when we have been humiliated can become a snare to our own soul if it is nourished. Our Lord in the valley of humiliation shows us another way. Being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself unto death, even the death of the cross. He did not strive to vindicate Himself before men, but committed Himself to Him that judgeth righteously. The valley of humiliation, though painful to the flesh, can become one of the sweetest spots in all the world when we learn there firmness of faith in His atoning sacrifice and meekness of spirit.

You speak of a colleague and of authorities who have forbidden you something, and of a sense that manipulation and entitlement have prevailed. It is natural to feel jealous for what has been taken, but Scripture reminds us that Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. He is jealous for His own glory and jealous for His people. Her jealous Husband shall roll away her shame, and He will ease His people of their adversaries in His own time and way. Let us be very jealous for the Lord God of hosts and for His glory, rather than jealous for our own vindication. Vengeance and vindication belong to Him, and He will surely use the rod only as wisdom and holiness require. We are not to cherish a spirit of retaliation, for under the Christian dispensation we can have no such anger against individuals. If we love Him, we will be jealous of His crown and His atonement, and we will desire that all, even those who have wounded us, might come to know His mercy.

You name a heaviness upon heart and mind, and a feeling that you cannot properly do your work without what has been removed. Here is comfort. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee. Pardon and healing were one. The Lord has begun to heal us and the healing virtue which His grace has infused into us will work health and cure till we shall be without spot or wrinkle.

Therefore let us pray not for the destruction of another, but for the healing and governance of all hearts, including our own.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, Thou knowest the pain in the gut and the heaviness that lies upon this Thy servant. Thou knowest what has been forbidden and what has been felt as cut away, and how humiliation has wounded the spirit. We ask Thee to be near as the great Physician. Bind up the broken heart. Let the healing virtue of Christ, even from the leaves of the tree of life, flow down to heal body and mind and spirit. Take away bitterness and the desire to repay evil, and give a meek and quiet spirit that trusts in Thy jealous care. Thou art a jealous God for Thy people, so we leave vindication in Thy hands. Grant wisdom and uprightness to those in authority, to the principal and to all who make decisions, that they may judge with justice and truth. Soften hearts where there is strife, and restrain what is evil in that workplace. Teach Thy servant how to do the work now required with faithfulness and peace, though feeling crippled, leaning not on former supports but on Thy strength. Lift this heaviness and let the Sun of Righteousness rise with healing in His wings. Keep this one from presumption and from despair, and establish the heart in firm faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, through whom alone is salvation and peace. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we ask it. Amen.

Seek the Lord daily in His Word, for faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and the healing power is present when Christ is taught. Walk humbly before authorities, speak truth with gentleness, seek godly counsel among fellow believers, and commit the outcome to Him who judgeth righteously. He will not forsake those who trust in Him.

The pain you describe in your gut and the heaviness on your heart are real, and God sees them. To feel cut off from something you have used for years, to feel diminished and humiliated in your workplace, and to carry anxiety that wakes up again every time you think of it, is a heavy scourging of the soul. Scripture speaks of anxiety in just that way, as a stripe and a burden that wears us down with fear and trembling.

God does not leave you under that burden. When we groan and look up to Him, He sends His Word to take hold of our souls and to free us from bitter slavery to fear and vain striving. He does not free us only from outward trouble, but from the inward anxiety that makes even good things feel like a weight. His promise is to give you peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, even while the difficult situation remains.

It is right to bring the whole situation to the Lord honestly, including the hurt caused by your colleague and the decision of the authorities that has made your work harder. At the same time, God calls us to entrust judgment to Him and not to let bitterness take root. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He is both just and merciful. Instead of asking Him simply to turn everything in your favor against another person, ask Him to do what is right and good for all, to bring truth to light, to restrain what is evil, and to change hearts where change is needed, including your own heart toward peace.

That means praying even for this colleague you find so difficult, that God would work in her life, bring her to humility and kindness, and stop any manipulation or unkindness toward you or the pupils. It means refusing to repay evil for evil, refusing to gather others against her, and choosing to speak truthfully and quietly, with respect for the principal and the authorities God has placed over the school, even when you feel they have acted unfairly. If there are lawful and proper ways to seek clarification or appeal what was forbidden, use them with wisdom and with counsel from a trusted mature believer. Continue to do your work faithfully with what you have been given, trusting that God can equip you and sustain you even when you feel crippled and unsure how to go on without what was taken away.

The Lord can lift that heaviness you carry. Bring that knot in your stomach to Him daily, confess any anger or desire to see her harmed, and ask Him to replace it with His peace and strength. He knows how to fashion anew what feels humiliated and weak and to make you able to stand and serve Him where you are.

Let me pray for you now.

Father in heaven, You see this hurt and this anxiety, the pain in the gut and the heaviness of heart. Have mercy and grant peace. Forgive sins and cleanse from bitterness, and free from the slavery of fear and anxiety. Give wisdom to work faithfully under authority, to do the job well with what is now permitted, and to trust You to provide what is needed each day. Bring justice and truth into this workplace, restrain evil, and work in the heart of this colleague and in the pupils for good. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be honored there. Guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and fill it with Your calm and strength. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, amen.

The pain you describe in your gut and the heaviness on your heart are real, and God sees both the humiliation you have felt and the sense of being cut off from something you relied on for years to do your work well. Feeling crippled and unsure how to go forward in your calling is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring it honestly to the Lord.

Scripture makes a distinction that helps here. There is a jealousy that is holy and a jealousy that is of the flesh. God is jealous in the holy sense. He loves His people and desires their whole heart, with no other gods before Him. The apostle Paul spoke of a similar godly jealousy when he said he longed to present the believers as a pure bride to Christ, not wanting them to be led away or corrupted. That kind of jealousy is rooted in love and protection.

Human jealousy is very different. It is listed among the works of the flesh, and it is rooted in selfishness and a sense of threatened territory. That kind of envy is destructive and, as the proverb says, very hard to stand against. When someone acts from that spirit, manipulating rules or seeking to diminish others, the hurt spreads to everyone around them. The Lord is not blind to that. In the law there was even a test for jealousy where a suspicious husband had to bring his wife before the priest with an offering, and she had to drink bitter water. The point was that God Himself would judge what was true. There was no provision for a wife to bring her husband in the same way. The picture shows that God alone is the just judge of jealous accusations, and He does not overlook what is done in secret.

When the hurt is immediate, all we can see is the pain right in front of us. The psalmist confessed that he was envious of the wicked until he went into the sanctuary of God, and there his vision was corrected. In God's presence he began to see with a longer view, beyond the present injustice to God's ultimate justice and goodness. That is what you need most now, not just a change in circumstances but a corrected vision that comes from drawing near to God. He can lift the heaviness you feel and give you peace even while the situation is still unresolved.

The Lord also understands physical and inner pain. From the beginning, pain entered the world through sin, and we groan in these bodies longing for deliverance. Yet Jesus has borne our pain for us. He carried our sorrows and sufferings so that we do not have to carry them alone. Like one who could still lift her hands and worship even while her body was in great pain, you can bring your gut level ache to Him and ask Him to carry what you cannot carry. It is not foolish to ask Him to take the burden, because He already has.

He will also enable you to do your work faithfully even though something you depended on has been taken away. God does not always restore the exact tool or permission we think we need, but He does give wisdom, strength, and new ways to fulfill what He has called you to do. Ask Him for clear wisdom in dealing with authorities and with leadership, to act with integrity and not with manipulation, and to trust Him to defend you rather than trying to defend yourself through bitterness.

Instead of asking God to curse your colleague and her students, ask Him to do what is right and merciful. Pray that He would restrain what is evil in that workplace, that He would bring conviction where it is needed, and that He would change hearts, including your own, so that envy and resentment do not take root in you. Pray for those who have hurt you, that they might come to know the truth, and pray that God would guard your heart from returning evil for evil.

A prayer for you:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring this dear one before You. You see the humiliation, the loss, and the heaviness that sits on the heart and even causes pain in the body. Lord, lift that burden. Bear this pain as You have promised to do, and give deep peace in its place. Correct vision in Your presence, so that the present hurt is seen in the light of Your justice and Your love. Protect from what is evil and unjust, restrain the spirit of envy and strife in that workplace, and bring what is hidden into Your light. Give wisdom to walk with integrity before authorities and before colleagues, and give new strength and skill to do the work You have given to do, even without what has been taken away. Keep the heart from bitterness, and fill it with Your love and forgiveness. Turn this situation for good according to Your will, and let Your name be honored. Amen.
