We hear your cry for deliverance from what you describe as a "spiritual husband," and we stand with you in fervent prayer, seeking God’s intervention and freedom in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. First, let us make it clear that any spiritual oppression, bondage, or ungodly soul ties must be broken by the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority we have in Christ. The Bible warns us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." This is a spiritual battle, and we must fight it with spiritual weapons.
If you have not already done so, we urge you to examine your life and heart before the Lord. Have you engaged in any practices, relationships, or behaviors that may have opened doors to the enemy? This could include involvement in occult practices, sexual immorality (including fornication or adultery), ungodly soul ties, or even unforgiveness. The Bible is clear in 1 Corinthians 10:21, "You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons." If there are areas where you have compromised, repentance is the first step to freedom. Confess your sins to God, renounce any ungodly connections, and ask Him to cleanse you by the blood of Jesus (1 John 1:9).
We also want to address the term "spiritual husband" directly. While we acknowledge that spiritual attacks and oppression are real, we must be careful not to give credence or power to false spiritual entities or concepts that are not rooted in Scripture. The enemy seeks to deceive and distort the truth, and we must resist him firmly in faith (James 4:7). There is no biblical basis for a "spiritual husband" or "spiritual wife" as a legitimate spiritual entity. These are lies and deceptions from the enemy to keep you in bondage. We rebuke every lying spirit and every assignment of the enemy against your life in the name of Jesus Christ. You are not subject to any spiritual husband, and we declare that every chain is broken by the power of the cross!
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name that is above every name. We lift up this dear one to You, Lord, and ask for Your deliverance and freedom. We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over every area of their life, and we rebuke every spirit of oppression, bondage, and deception that has sought to ensnare them. Lord, we ask that You break every chain, sever every ungodly soul tie, and release them from any spiritual captivity. Your Word says in Isaiah 61:1, "The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound." We claim this promise over their life, Lord.
We ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and surround them with Your angels for protection. Guard their mind, their heart, and their body from every attack of the enemy. Help them to stand firm in their faith, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Father, we ask that You bring godly believers into their life who can stand with them in prayer and encouragement. Surround them with Your love and peace, Lord, and remind them that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).
If there are areas where they have opened doors to the enemy, Lord, we ask that You reveal them and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and restore them to full fellowship with You. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we cancel every assignment of the enemy in their life. We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, their emotions, their body, and their spirit. We declare that they are free in Christ, and we thank You for the victory that is already theirs.
Lord, we ask that You strengthen their faith and help them to walk in the freedom that You have purchased for them. Teach them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to resist the devil, so that he will flee from them (James 4:7). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to deliver and set free. We trust in Your power and Your love, and we declare that this one is free indeed (John 8:36). In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Now, dear one, we encourage you to stand firm in your faith and walk in the freedom that Christ has given you. Here are some practical steps to help you maintain your deliverance and grow in your relationship with the Lord:
1. Stay in the Word of God: The Bible is your sword in this spiritual battle. Meditate on Scripture daily, and declare God’s promises over your life. Psalm 119:11 says, "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Fill your mind with truth, and the lies of the enemy will have no place in you.
2. Pray Without Ceasing: Maintain a lifestyle of prayer and communion with God. Prayer is your lifeline to heaven, and it keeps you connected to the source of your strength. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 encourages us to "pray without ceasing."
3. Fellowship with Believers: Surround yourself with godly believers who can encourage you, pray with you, and hold you accountable. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
4. Renounce and Resist: If the enemy tries to come back, do not entertain his lies or his presence. Renounce him in the name of Jesus and resist him firmly in faith. James 4:7 says, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
5. Worship and Praise: Worship is a powerful weapon against the enemy. When you lift your voice in praise to God, the enemy is silenced, and God’s presence fills the space. Psalm 22:3 says, "But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel."
6. Walk in Holiness: Pursue a life of holiness and obedience to God. The enemy has no legal right to oppress a child of God who is walking in righteousness. 1 Peter 1:15-16 says, "But just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior, because it is written, 'You shall be holy, for I am holy.'"
7. Seek Godly Counsel: If you continue to struggle, seek out a pastor or a mature believer who can pray with you and provide biblical counsel. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."
Remember, dear one, that your freedom was purchased at a great price, the blood of Jesus Christ. You are not alone in this battle, and you do not have to fight it in your own strength. The Lord is your refuge and your fortress, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep your eyes on Him, and walk in the victory that is already yours in Christ. The enemy may try to come back, but he has no power over you. Stand firm, resist him, and he will flee. You are free in Christ, and we declare that freedom over your life today!
