We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this cry for spiritual deliverance. First, let us affirm that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you and your household in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
The request mentions deliverance "in Jesus' mighty name," and we want to emphasize the power and authority we have in that name. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can approach Him with confidence (Ephesians 3:12). We encourage you to continually call upon the name of Jesus, for at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth (Philippians 2:10).
Now, let us address the areas where the enemy may be seeking a foothold. The Bible warns us to be sober and vigilant, because our adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). We must put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). This includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17).
We also encourage you to examine your life and household for any areas that may be giving the enemy legal ground. Are there unconfessed sins, unforgiveness, or idols in your heart? The Bible tells us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Let us search our hearts and repent of anything that does not align with God's will.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister and their household, asking for Your divine protection and deliverance. Lord, we rebuke every spiritual battle and assignment of the enemy against them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we ask for Your mark of protection upon them and their household. Let Your angels encamp around them and keep them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11). Intervene in their job and every area of their life, Lord. Provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
We pray for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit, that they may be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in the inner man (Ephesians 3:16). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we ask that You would expose any areas where the enemy may have gained a foothold, and we repent of any sins or idols in our lives. Cleanse us with the precious blood of Jesus and restore us to right fellowship with You.
We declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Your church, and we stand firm in the victory that Jesus has already won on the cross. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayer. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Continue to seek the Lord with all your heart, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
