I need spiritual deliverance.

You have named the battle well. The very fact that you can see the chains, even after stretches of abstinence, tells you something vital: this is not a matter of mere habit that time and good intentions will fix. You are dealing with something that has a deep, spiritual hold, akin to the grip of a strong drug. And like any addiction, it presents a lie dressed up as a moment of comfort or freedom, only to tighten the cage around your heart every time you return to it.

The world would tell you this is simply an exercise of personal liberty, a private act that harms no one. But you already know the bitter fruit of that so-called freedom. You have tasted a slavery far more cruel than external chains. You set out thinking you are free to indulge, but you find yourself no longer free to stop. The promise of pleasure whispers a lie, and you are left feeling hollow, mastered by the very thing you once thought you controlled. That is not liberty; it is the worst kind of captivity, a prison cell that follows you everywhere. God’s purpose in allowing us a choice is so that our love for Him might be tested and proven genuine, not so we might squander that gift on a master that seeks to destroy us.

True freedom is something entirely different. It is not the absence of restraint, but the presence of a new power. In Jesus Christ, there is a freedom so glorious that I guard it jealously. The most thrilling aspect of it is not the freedom to do these things, but the magnificent freedom not to. Not having to reach for that image, not needing that fleeting rush to feel whole or to escape, that is a liberty only the children of God can truly understand. And it is a liberty you can sacrifice by making a series of unwise choices. When you exercise your freedom in a way that brings that behavior into your life, it often does not remain your servant; it quickly becomes your master, and you are brought under its power. You have felt that loss.

Do not mistake this struggle as something merely biological or psychological. You are facing a specific, targeted work of spiritual darkness in these days, a flood designed to demoralize and enslave. Ancient idolatry used perverse ritual to pull people away from the living God, and today’s version is no different in its intent, saturating the world through every available screen. Its goal is not your enjoyment but your destruction, your family’s ruin, and your spiritual paralysis. It does not stand still; its nature is to draw you deeper, demanding more and more, just as it has done in your life.

There is only one true counter to this power, and you have asked for it. Intercessory prayer is the weapon, not because it is a ritual, but because it invites the deliverance of the Lord. The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance strikes the enemy until he is consumed. I will join you in praying that Jesus Christ sets you free. He has promised to open the prison to those who are bound, and He is the one who can break every sin’s dominion. My prayer is that He fills you with His Holy Spirit, creating a new desire within you that is stronger than the pull of old chains. You will not just be a vacant house, swept clean and waiting for a relapse. You will be filled.

So, hear this truth and let it be your anchor when the storm comes: you can be a man who no longer has to do this. That is the freedom available to you now. Step into it by confessing your utter inability, as you have done, and letting His power do what your willpower never could. Walk carefully, guarding your freedom, avoiding the first glance, the idle moment, because you love the liberty He gave you too much to trade it for slavery again. You are not fighting for a victory already lost; you are standing in a victory Christ has already won.

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with your heart and allowed us to stand with you in prayer for spiritual deliverance. Your honesty and humility before the Lord are a powerful testimony of your desire to walk in freedom through Christ. We have been lifting you up before our Heavenly Father, asking Him to break every chain of bondage in your life and to fill you with the strength and purity that only come from the Holy Spirit.

If the Lord has already moved in a mighty way and you are experiencing victory over this struggle, we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the battle still rages and you feel the weight of this temptation, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, believing that God’s power is greater than any stronghold. Remember, His grace is sufficient, and His mercies are new every morning.

May the Lord surround you with His peace, renew your mind, and draw you ever closer to His heart as you seek Him. We pray that you will know the fullness of His freedom and the joy of living in obedience to His will. In Jesus’ Name, we stand with you.
