We lift up your precious son to the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the urgency and gravity of this spiritual battle. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of despair, suicide, and unbelief that has taken hold of your son in the mighty name of Jesus. The lies of Satan that whisper hopelessness and worthlessness must be shattered by the truth of God’s Word.
Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Break through the darkness that surrounds him and let Your light pierce his heart. Soften his resistance to counseling, Lord, and open his eyes to the help and hope that professional guidance can provide. We pray that he would not harden his heart but instead surrender to the support and care that You desire to provide through others.
We declare that your son’s identity is not found in his struggles, his pain, or the lies of the enemy, but in Christ alone. Remind him, Lord, that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that he is loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), and that nothing can separate him from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). We pray that he would come to know You as his Savior and Redeemer, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Without faith in Jesus, he is lost and without hope, but in You, there is forgiveness, healing, and eternal life.
We also lift up your family during this painful season. Strengthen each of you with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guard your hearts and minds from fear and despair, and fill you with hope as you trust in the Lord’s faithfulness. We pray that this trial would draw your family closer to one another and to God, even as you walk through the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4).
Lord, we ask that You surround your son with people who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into his situation. Place believers in his path who will share the gospel with love and boldness, and who will pray fervently for his salvation. We ask that You would protect his mind from further deception and that he would completely reject the idea of suicide. Let him see that his life has value and purpose, and that You have a plan for his future (Jeremiah 29:11).
We stand in the gap for him, declaring that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We bind the spirit of suicide and command it to leave in the name of Jesus. We loose the spirit of adoption, that he would cry out to You as his Heavenly Father (Romans 8:15). We loose the spirit of truth to expose every lie and replace it with Your Word. We loose the spirit of hope to fill his heart with the assurance of Your love and redemption.
Father, we trust You to move mightily in this situation. We ask that You would do what only You can do, save his soul, heal his mind, and restore his life. May he come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and may he walk in the freedom and victory that only Christ can provide. We ask all of this in the powerful and precious name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.
