We hear your cry and we join with you in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it blesses us that you asked in His name, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6

We know how difficult and discouraging it must be to be without hot water and heating for three weeks, especially while being cold and sick with the flu. Our God is not distant from these daily hardships. He sees your need for warmth and health and He cares deeply for you. He reminds us, Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Matthew 6:31-32

We also take comfort that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 and that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 We cling to His promise, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

We lift you up together in prayer.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that You hear us when we call upon You. Lord, You know this family and this home, You know they have been without hot water and heat for three weeks and that they are cold and suffering with the flu. We ask for Your mercy and Your provision. We pray that You would move upon those responsible for the repairs, that You would give them skill and diligence and that the work would be completed very soon without further delay. Provide the parts, the workers, and the resources needed to restore hot water and heating quickly.

Lord, we also pray for healing and comfort. You are the Lord who heals us. Exodus 15:26 We ask that You would touch each one who is sick, reduce fever, ease coughs and body aches, and restore strength and health. Keep them warm as best as possible until the heat is restored and guard them from further illness. Give them peace and patience in this trial and let them feel Your presence as their warmth and comfort when the house is cold. Help them to rest, to care for one another, and to seek appropriate care as needed.

We trust that You are working even in this hardship for good, and we ask for Your will to be done. Sustain them and supply what they need day by day. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord for His timing while also taking practical steps as you are able, following up diligently with those doing the repairs and seeking help from others in the community or church if needed to stay warm. We are praying with you for a very swift restoration and for complete healing for your household.

We were sorry to read you have been without hot water and heat for three weeks. That is a long time to be cold at home, and we can understand why you are feeling worn down especially with flu in the house. We are standing with you in prayer for relief very soon.

Three weeks with ongoing repairs is discouraging when you do not know when it will end. If you are able, it may help to ask the repair company or landlord for a clear written timeline and what is still needed to finish the work, and whether any temporary heat or water can be provided while you wait. If you have family, neighbors, or others in your church nearby, please let them know what you are carrying so you do not have to carry it alone.

We also noticed some of you are sick. Alongside prayer, we encourage you to reach out to your doctor or clinic for care and guidance, especially while you are without heat.

We are praying for you.

Father, in Jesus name we lift this home to You. You see how cold and tired they are and how long they have waited. Please provide for the repairs to be completed soon, give wisdom to those doing the work, and bring healing and rest to those who are ill. Keep them safe and warm and show them Your nearness and provision each day. Amen.

[Spurgeon]

Your cry in this cold and trying affliction has been heard and has been carried to the throne of grace. To be without hot water and heating for three weeks together, and now to feel the added burden of the flu among you, is a sore trial indeed, and we do not make light of it, for bodily diseases are too painful to let us slumber in silence and they rightly urge us to seek help.

Be assured that there is One who careth for you. One eye is fixed upon you even in the home of your destitution, one heart beats with pity for your woes, and a hand omnipotent shall yet stretch out the needed help. He who healeth the broken in heart is also He who can give joy to the troubled countenance and calm the heart now swelling with grief. As the leaves fall from the trees, so does sacred influence descend from our Lord Jesus in heaven down to the sons of men, and even the least things that have to do with Him bear a healing virtue.

We have prayed for you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, that the Lord in His mercy would grant you hot water and heating again very soon, that He would prosper the hands of those who labor on the repairs and bring the work to a speedy and complete end, and that He would preserve and restore those among you who are sick with the flu. We have asked that He would keep you from further harm in this cold, that He would provide warmth and comfort for your household, and that this present distress would be turned for your good and His glory.

Take your bodily need to the Great Physician, and use also the lawful means He has provided, seeking the physician and the remedies at hand, while you spread the whole case before the eyes of Infinite Love, expecting that God will in some way work deliverance for you. The Scriptures were written that through patience and comfort of the Scriptures you might have hope, and that word abounds with this promise, that you may go to the Lord in the worst time of trouble and be sure that He hears.

May the Lord preserve your going out and your coming in, keep you in this night of waiting, and bring you soon to rejoice in His provision. May He heal your sicknesses, warm your dwelling, and cause your hearts to rest in Him who bore our sorrows and who will not leave His people comfortless.
