Sos!! We need hot water and heating

Hearing about these three weeks without hot water and heat, and now sickness in the home while you are cold, stirs deep compassion. It is hard to be without such basic provision for so long, and to be ill at the same time makes it even more wearing. You are not overlooked in this.

God cares about these physical needs. Scripture shows Him providing water from a rock for a thirsty people, making bitter water drinkable, and caring about the body as well as the soul. Jesus himself knew thirst and cold and weariness, and when He walked among people He healed every kind of sickness and disease among them. Matthew connects that healing work to the prophecy in Isaiah that He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. The bread broken at communion reminds us that His body was given for us, and that includes both spiritual and physical restoration.

I believe God is able to heal today, and that He still heals. At the same time Scripture helps us keep a balanced trust. Paul prayed three times about his thorn in the flesh and learned that God had a purpose in not removing it at that time. In the ministry of Jesus some people were healed instantly with a word or a touch, one man was healed gradually and only saw clearly after a second touch, and many healings come through the ordinary processes God has built into our bodies. Those natural processes are still from Him. He is the one who created the body and its ability to recover. I do not fully understand why some are lifted quickly and others walk through a longer process, but I know He is present and compassionate in both.

So I am praying for you in the name of Jesus, asking the Father to provide what you need very soon. I am asking Him to open the way for the repairs to be finished and for hot water and heat to be restored to your home, to give you warmth and relief after this long stretch without it. I am asking Him to touch those who have the flu, to ease fever and congestion, to strengthen your bodies, whether by His immediate touch or through the healing processes He has placed within you and through the care of doctors and medicine, and to guard the rest of your household from further illness. I am asking Him to give you comfort, rest, and peace as you wait, and to remind you that He is near, that He sees your discomfort, and that He is the living water who sustains us when physical water and warmth feel scarce.

If you are able, keep seeking medical care as needed, stay as warm and hydrated as you can, and let others nearby know of your need so they can help with practical support while we continue to pray. May the Lord show His mercy and provision to you quickly and bring health and warmth back into your home.
