Son's custody Thursday Court day

We join you in prayer for your son and your two grandchildren as this court day approaches on Thursday, and we hear the weight of sorrow and concern you carry for them.

We pray that the Lord, who loves justice and truth and sees what is done in secret, will be present in that courtroom. We ask that the judge will have clear eyes to see the truth, clear ears to hear what is honest, and wisdom to discern what is manipulative or false. We pray that every lie spoken will be brought to light and that the faithful, steady care your son has given to his children since they were so small will be clearly seen.

We pray for your son in his hurt. Years of loving and providing for his children, and now to hear them speak against him under pressure, is a deep wound. We ask God to comfort him, to guard his heart from bitterness, to strengthen him to continue to love his children with patience and steadiness, and to uphold him with peace that passes understanding as he stands before the court.

We pray for your grandchildren. They have known the stability and care of their father and have been doing well in school and in life under his care. We ask the Lord to protect them from confusion and from being used as instruments in conflict, to keep them in truth, and to preserve the good fruit that has grown in their lives through their father's faithfulness.

We also pray for their mother, as you asked. We pray that the Lord will draw her to Himself, that she will come to know Jesus Christ and His saving grace, that her heart will be turned from manipulation and self interest toward repentance, truth and genuine love for her children that seeks their good above her own.

We will continue to pray that God will do what is right and good for these children, that justice will be done, and that your family will be sustained by His mercy in the days ahead. May the Lord give you all strength to trust Him and to rest in His righteous hand.

We are joining you in prayer for your son, your grandchildren, and for the court hearing ahead. God sees what has been faithfully done over these many years and He hears the cries of those who are hurting and oppressed.

It is a painful thing when a parent who has lovingly raised his children since they were so small, and has seen good fruit in their lives in school and in character, is then spoken against with lies. Scripture warns about those who try to gain ground by tearing others down and speaking evil against them, and it reminds us that throwing mud at another never establishes truth. The Lord knows the truth about your son's care and love, and He is the One who ultimately judges with perfect righteousness. We are asking Him to give the earthly judge clear eyes and ears to discern what is true and what is false, to not be swayed by manipulation, and to act with wisdom and fairness as one who is called to deliver and protect.

The history of the judges in Scripture shows us that when God's people cried out because of oppression, God raised up judges and was with them to bring deliverance, because He was moved by their groaning. Your son's hurt and your family's concern are not unseen. There are no coincidences when we belong to the Lord. His hand is at work even in difficult and confusing circumstances, and He is able to make the truth known.

We are also praying for your grandchildren. Jesus has a special care for children and warns seriously about those who would harm their faith and mislead them. These young hearts are vulnerable when they are pressured to say what is not true about a father who loves them. We pray God will guard them from confusion, keep them rooted in truth, and let His love dwell richly in their hearts. May they be kept walking in truth and in genuine love, which is shown not just in words but in deeds.

And we join you in praying for their mother. You are right that what she needs most is Jesus in her heart. By grace we are saved through faith, and that is the unmerited favor of God, a gift and not something we earn. Only through faith in Jesus Christ can a heart be changed and made new. We pray that God in His grace would draw her to Himself, open her eyes to His truth, and bring her to repentance and new life, so that she may love her children in a way that truly seeks their good.

We pray now that God will sustain your son with peace, strengthen him to continue walking in truth and love even when he is wronged, and increase in him the knowledge of God's love for him. May the Lord comfort him in his hurt, uphold him by grace, and protect the children he has so faithfully raised.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for allowing us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your son and his children.

We have continued to bring before the Lord your son's custody hearing that was scheduled for Thursday, and the heavy burden he has carried as he has faithfully raised his son since he was 2 and 1 half and his daughter since she was 1 and 1 half. We have prayed that the Lord would protect the good fruit that has been evident in their lives as they have done so well in school under his care, and that truth would prevail over the manipulation and the lies that were spoken in mediation at the mother's request.

We have asked God to open the eyes and ears of the judge to see the truth with clear discernment and not be swayed by deceiving words, and to see the good man your son is and the loving and stable father he has been for all these years. We have also prayed for your son's heart as he has been so hurt through this process, that God would strengthen and comfort him, and for the mother of the children that her heart would be softened and that she would come to know Jesus and seek what is truly best for her children and not merely to avoid child support. We trust that the Lord who defends the fatherless and watches over families is sovereign over the courtroom, for we remember Proverbs 21:1 and Psalm 68:5.

If the court has ruled and your request was answered and your son was able to retain custody, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If the matter is still pending or the outcome did not seem to be answered as you had hoped, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We are praying in Jesus Name that God's will be done for these two teenagers and that He will cover them and your son with His peace and protection. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His son, Jesus Christ.
