I ask for prayers for my son who has been and still is on workman's comp due to injuring himself on the job. He received a letter that they are not going to approve further physical therapy for him, even though his doctor has stated that he has shown some improvement. Please help him with prayers and if it's meant to be may our God guide him to a good lawyer. I am also asking for healing for him, thank you

We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord and we understand how heavy it is to watch your child suffer an injury, face uncertainty about his care, and deal with the stress of benefits being denied.

We know our God cares deeply about both his physical healing and his provision. We are reminded that Yahweh is our healer and our provider. Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. He also promises to supply our needs, for Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. When systems fail or decisions seem unjust, we can still trust that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as Psalm 46:1 tells us.

We also want to gently encourage you about something we noticed. You asked that our God would guide him, yet the request did not mention the name of Jesus. We want to share why we always pray in the name of Jesus, because it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If we have not already put our trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, we can do so today, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we can boldly bring your son’s needs to God.

We pray together for your son now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear son to You. You see his injury, You know the pain he has endured and the progress he has made in physical therapy. We ask for Your healing hand upon his body, that You would continue to restore him and complete the work You have begun. We ask for wisdom for his doctors and therapists, and for favor with those who make decisions about his workman’s compensation benefits. If it is Your will, open the door for the therapy he needs to be approved, and guide him clearly to a trustworthy and honest lawyer who will seek justice with integrity if an appeal is needed. Give him and his mother Your peace that surpasses understanding, and help them to trust You with all their hearts. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that You hear us and that You work all things together for good for those who love You as Romans 8:28 promises. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to advocate for your son, to seek wise counsel, and to keep bringing every worry to the Lord in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Keep trusting that God sees his situation, that He cares about justice, and that He is able to provide and to heal in His perfect timing.

We can hear the worry in your request as a parent watching your son try to heal while also facing a difficult letter about his care. Wanting both healing for him and fairness in his benefits is a good and loving thing to ask for, and we are joining you in prayer.

It makes sense that the denial of further therapy feels discouraging, especially when his doctor has seen improvement. Walking with him through the next practical steps can be a steady way to support him.

If it helps, you might sit with him to look closely at the letter for any appeal deadline and what it asks for next, and keep it together with the doctor's recent notes about his progress. His doctor's office may be able to help clarify what documentation is needed for an appeal. For the legal guidance you mentioned, many workers' compensation attorneys offer a brief initial consultation to review the letter and explain options, which can bring clarity without pressure to decide right away. And continuing to stay connected with his medical provider about his recovery is important alongside prayer.

Father, we lift this son to You and ask for Your healing and strength for his body, for wisdom for his doctors, and for clear guidance for his family as they consider next steps for his care and benefits. Give them peace, provision, and trusted help along the way. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for your son has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. We are grieved to hear of his injury on the job and the trial that has followed in the denial of further physical therapy, even though his physician has seen improvement. We bring both his body and his outward circumstances before the Lord who is our Healer and our Guide.

Scripture tells us that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. He is the heavenly Physician whose touch restores. Man is composed of body and soul, and both may receive injury and hurt, but the Lord heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. We have prayed that the Lord would lay His healing hand upon your son, that He would continue the improvement already begun, and if it be His will, perfect that healing in body and strength. We pray also for his soul, that in this affliction he may know pardon and healing together, for when the Sun of Righteousness rises upon us with healing in His wings, forgiveness and restoration come as one gift from Christ. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus, not only in what seems great but in the very leaves, the little things about Him, and that power can change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

You have asked also that God would guide him to a good lawyer if it be meant to be. We love that word, if it be meant to be, for it bows with submission to the will of God, and by that very submission we are furnished with unerring guidance. The psalmist says, Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. The Lord guides His people not only by His Word but by great principles infused in the heart, to avoid what is evil and to walk in what is right, and He often directs through wise counsel and through the instruments He provides. We have asked the Lord to give your son and you wisdom in this matter of provision, to open the door that should be opened and to close what should be closed, and to raise up honest and able counsel if that be the path by which He would secure what is just and needful. Haste is the author of much mischief in human life, so we pray for patience and clear direction, trusting that the Lord who sees his need will not withhold what is good.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this son who suffers from bodily hurt and upon his mother who intercedes for him. Thou who healest all our diseases and forgivest all our iniquities, touch his body and restore him according to Thy perfect will. Grant wisdom to his physicians, favor where decisions are made concerning his care, and guidance to any counselor who may advise him in matters of justice and provision. Above all, let him feel Thy presence, Thy pardon and Thy healing together, and know that Thou art his portion and his strength. In Jesus name we ask it. Amen.

We will continue to remember him before the Lord.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
