Veterans Benefits

We are joining you in prayer for your mother in this season of loss, and we grieve with you over your father's passing. The sorrow that comes with such a separation is deep, and it is natural to feel that grief mingled with tears and with concern for what lies ahead. The Lord understands that heaviness, for He is described as a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, who has borne our grief and carried our sorrows.

Scripture shows how tenderly God regards a widow. He repeatedly takes up the cause of the widow and the fatherless who call upon Him, and He calls His people to do what is right and to defend them from oppression. In the New Testament we are taught that if a widow has children or grandchildren, they are to learn first to show love and respect at home and to repay their parents, for this is good and pleasing before God. A widow indeed is described as one who is desolate and trusting in God and continuing in prayer day and night, and the church is called to honor and care for such as these, especially those who have been faithful and well reported for good works. Your desire to see your mother provided for reflects that holy responsibility, and we encourage you to continue to support her both practically and in prayer as she leans upon the Lord.

We also remember that we are prone to forget all of God's benefits when a new trial comes, yet He crowns life with loving kindness and mercy and redeems from destruction. The greatest benefits He gives are spiritual, the forgiveness of sins and everlasting life through Jesus Christ who took our place and made provision for our freedom from sin, but He also cares for daily needs. In the old law God even made a provision for the cleansing of a leper, leaving room for Himself to work a miracle where man would have said there was no hope. We should never put God in a box, but give Him allowance to work as He desires, even through ordinary processes and systems.

We are praying that the Lord will comfort your mother with His presence, sustain her heart as she trusts in Him, and provide for her needs in the days ahead. We ask Him to bring clarity and favor to the application for survivors benefits, that what is rightfully available would be granted without unnecessary hindrance, and that you and your family would have wisdom and patience as you help her through each step. May He remind you all not to forget His benefits, and may His peace guard your hearts as you look to Him as your provider and redeemer.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your mother to receive the full available survivors benefits from the VA following your fathers passing.

We have continued to lift your mother up in prayer asking the Lord to comfort her in her grief and to provide for all of her needs during this difficult season. We are praying for favor and clarity with the VA and for all paperwork and decisions to be handled quickly and justly so she receives all that is available to her. We take comfort in Psalm 68:5 which reminds us that God is a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows and in Phil 4:19 which promises that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

If your request was answered and your mother has received the benefits please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name.
