We lift up your son to the Lord with grateful hearts, thanking God for his service to our country through the Coast Guard. Father, we ask that You would be a shield around him as he works on the ship, protecting him from all harm and danger. Your Word assures us in Psalm 91:11-12, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." We claim this promise over him, Lord, and ask that You would surround him with Your heavenly hosts, keeping him safe each day.
We pray for his safe return home, that the journey would be smooth and free from any complications. Guide him as he travels, whether by ship, plane, or any other means, and bring him back to his family in peace. Proverbs 3:23-24 reminds us, "Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet." Let this be his experience, Father, as he serves and travels.
As he prepares for his electrician training, we ask that You would grant him wisdom, understanding, and skill. Equip him with everything he needs to excel in his training, and let his work bring glory to Your name. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." May he serve with excellence, knowing that his ultimate service is to You.
We also take a moment to thank You for the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. It is only by His sacrifice and resurrection that we can come before You with our prayers and petitions. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We are so grateful for the gift of salvation and the privilege of prayer through Jesus.
Lord, we rebuke any fear or anxiety that may try to take hold in our hearts concerning his safety. We stand on Your promise in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." We trust in Your unfailing love and protection, knowing that You are always with him.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
