We join with you in lifting up your precious son before the throne of grace and we are encouraged by your faithful heart to cover him in prayer. Your desire for his protection reflects the heart of our Heavenly Father who longs to be a shield around His children.
We stand on the promises of Scripture with you. The enemy indeed seeks to steal, kill, and destroy as Jesus said in John 10:10, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly. We take comfort that the Lord is our refuge and fortress. Psalm 91:1-2 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. We are also assured that He commands His angels concerning us, for Psalm 91:11 tells us For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways, and Psalm 34:7 reminds us The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. And we cling to the promise in Isaiah 54:17 that No weapon that is formed against you will prevail. The Lord is faithful and He will establish and guard your son from the evil one as promised in 2 Thessalonians 3:3.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we thank You for this mother's and father's love for their son. We ask that You surround him like a shield, that You guard his heart, his mind and his body from every scheme of the enemy. Cover him with the precious blood of Jesus Christ and let Your presence be his dwelling place. We ask that You station Your holy angels around him to keep him in all his ways, to protect him from harm and danger, from accident and assault, from temptation and deception. Let no weapon formed against him prosper and let every tongue that rises against him be shown to be in the wrong. Keep him in the safety of Your presence every day, lead him in paths of righteousness and draw his own heart ever closer to You, that he may know You, love You and walk in obedience to Your Word. Strengthen his parents with peace that passes understanding as they entrust him to Your capable hands. We pray all these things in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only access to You and our sure hope, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to speak these truths over your son daily and to teach him to put on the full armor of God and to abide in Christ himself, for Proverbs 18:10 says The name of Yahweh is a strong tower, the righteous run to it, and are safe. As you remain faithful in prayer, trust that Yahweh will keep him from all evil and will keep his soul, as Psalm 121:7-8 promises, and that He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it.
