Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son has been heard and I join you in bringing him before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and adoption as sons.
We ask first for grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ to rest upon you and upon your son. Scripture teaches that Christ put an end to war between us and God by His grace, and that grace brings peace. That peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and we pray that God will keep it firmly settled in your son's heart and life.
We pray for a hedge of protection around him and for deliverance from every form of evil, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. One purpose of the incarnation was deliverance from evil and supply of good, that we might be freed from the curse and be brought into sonship. Through Christ we have been given the Spirit of adoption, and we ask that your son would know that he is not forgotten but is held as a son before God, clothed in Christ and kept by Him.
We ask that God would expose the deeds of darkness and bring them to light. He is not a God of war and fighting, but a God who loves peace and righteousness, and He brings what is hidden into the open so that healing and justice may come. Where there has been abuse or oppression, we pray that the Lord would separate what is harmful from what is good, and preserve what is whole.
We also pray as the Church has always prayed, for the Angel of peace to be near him. The Lord Jesus said that the angels of the little ones always behold the face of the Father in heaven, and each believer is attended by such care. We ask that God would surround your son with His holy angels, guarding him as a tutor guards a child, keeping him from the snares of the evil one and filling the place where fear has been with watchful care.
Finally we ask that God would fill him with His own peace and strength. The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many, even for those who were His enemies. How much more will He care for His own children when they call upon Him. May He quiet your son's heart, make him sober and steady in the presence of God, and grant him the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy and peace. May he be nurtured with good hope, with a clean conscience and with constant comfort, knowing that even in hunger or hardship or fear, the joy that comes from Christ remains.
We commit your son to the Father who loves him, asking for protection, for truth to be revealed, for angelic guarding, and for deep and lasting peace and strength in Jesus name. Amen.
