Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer for your son reflects the deep love a parent has for a child, and Scripture presents that love as one of the strongest pictures we have of the love of the Heavenly Father for His Son. When God spoke at the baptism of Jesus He said, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. That same Father so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, not withholding Him, so that through Him we might have life. Jesus alone is the only begotten Son, full of grace and truth, and through faith in Him we who believe are adopted as sons and daughters and become heirs of His promises. To have the Son is to have life, and His blood continually cleanses those who trust in Him.
God fully understands the weight of what you are carrying. As Abraham loved his son and was grieved at the thought of harm coming to him, your love makes you grieve over any hurt your son may face. The Lord sees what is hidden. What is done in darkness He is able to expose and bring into the light, for nothing is hidden from Him, and He is faithful to provide and to deliver. Just as God provided the ram in the thicket for Abraham, He is able to provide protection and a way of rescue for your son.
We join you in praying for that hedge of protection around him. We ask the Father to deliver him from every form of abuse, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, to surround him with His holy angels, and to fill his heart with peace and strength that comes from knowing Christ. The Scriptures exhort a son to keep wisdom and discretion close, to not walk in the path of those who run to do evil, and to ponder the path of his feet. The promise is that when wisdom is kept, a person can walk safely and lie down without fear, quiet from the fear of evil. We pray that your son will be kept in that place of safety, that his steps will be established away from harm, and that he will know quietness and confidence in the Lord day and night.
We also encourage you to keep yourselves in the love of God, continuing in the Son and in the Father, holding fast to what you have heard from the beginning, believing that Jesus is the Son of God and keeping His commandments, which are not grievous. As you remain in Him, you can rest in His care even as you take every wise and practical step to seek safety for your son and to bring any abuse into the light where it can be addressed rightly.
Heavenly Father, we lift this precious son to You in the name of Jesus. Place Your hand of protection around him, expose every deed of darkness against him, and let truth come to light. Surround him with Your angels, guard his body, mind, and spirit, and fill him with Your peace that passes understanding and with strength for each day. Draw him close to Yourself through Your Son, that he may know he is loved, kept, and never forsaken. In Jesus name, Amen.
