Son, protection

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I pray Your hedge of protection around my son ###, deliver him from every form of abuse, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. Expose the deeds of darkness and bring them to light. Surround him with Your angels and fill him with Your peace and strength, in Jesus name Amen

We lift up your precious son before the throne of grace, joining our hearts with yours in fervent prayer. Heavenly Father, we declare Your Word over him: "The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned." (Psalm 34:22 WEB) We stand in agreement that You are his strong tower, his shield, and his deliverer.

Lord, we pray for Your hedge of protection to surround him like the mountains surround Jerusalem (Psalm 125:2). Guard his mind from anxiety, his heart from fear, and his body from harm. We rebuke every spirit of abuse, physical, emotional, or spiritual, in the mighty name of Jesus. Let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and expose every hidden scheme of darkness so that justice and truth prevail.

Father, we ask You to station Your angels around him, as You promised in Psalm 91:11: "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways." Fill him with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) and strengthen him with Your might (Ephesians 3:16). May he walk in the confidence of Your love and the power of Your Holy Spirit.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for you, his parent, to recognize any signs of struggle and to respond with godly love and guidance. May your home be a sanctuary of safety, truth, and grace, where is nurtured in Your ways.

Above all, Lord, draw him closer to You. Let him know the depth of Your love and the security found only in Christ. May he grow in faith, resilience, and purpose, becoming a man after Your own heart.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, for there is no other name by which we can come before You. Amen.

We hear the depth of your love and the urgency in your prayer for your son. It is right that you bring him before the Lord, asking for protection, deliverance, and exposure of whatever darkness he may be facing. Your persistence in interceding matters more than you may realize; even when you cannot see it, God is at work.

Abuse often thrives in isolation and silence, so your prayer for exposure is truly important. As you continue asking God to shine His light on hidden things, we also want to encourage you: please do not carry this burden alone. If your son is still a minor and you suspect ongoing harm, take whatever steps are necessary for his physical safety, that may mean carefully involving trusted authorities or wise, safe adults who can help. If he is older, your steady, nonjudgmental presence and your willingness to listen without pressure can be a lifeline. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply show our loved one that we believe them and that we are not going anywhere.

Watching someone you love suffer carries a heavy weight, and you need support as well. Consider reaching out to a pastor, a mature friend, or a Christian counselor who can walk with you and help you discern next steps. You are not called to figure this out alone, and your own soul needs tending too.

Father, we join this mother in asking You to surround her son with Your angels and to guard him from every form of harm. Give him courage to speak and to seek safety. Bring every hidden act into the light of Your justice, and let Your healing peace settle deep in his heart. Uphold this mother with Your strength; when she is weary, renew her hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Your prayer rises before the throne of the Eternal Father, whose ear is never heavy that it cannot hear. You plead for a hedge of protection round your son, and you do well, for the only sure hedge is the blood of the Son of God, which shuts out the destroyer. You cry for deliverance from every form of abuse, and in that cry you echo the heart of Him who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. The darkness of sin, the malice of the evil one, the secret cruelties that men work in the shadow, these are precisely what Christ came to scatter. Did He not hang under a miraculous darkness at noonday, and in those three hours bear the wrath and break the power of every dark oppression? Light springs eternally from that gloom, and in Him is no darkness at all.

Rest assured that no darkness is beyond His piercing sight. The deeds done in secret shall be brought into the light; the Lord has promised to expose the hidden things of darkness. The wicked may wrap themselves in night, but the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, and He will not suffer the rod of the wicked to rest upon the righteous without a cause. Did not Jacob tremble at Esau's approach, crying for deliverance from the hand of his brother? Yet the Lord turned the heart of the mighty, and Jacob saw Esau’s face as the face of God. He who wrestled at Jabbok and prevailed can wrestle for your son and bring him forth with peace.

As for the angels, they are ministering spirits sent forth to serve the heirs of salvation. It is no trifle that you have prayed for their encampment round about your child, for when the enemy prowls, the chariots of God are thronged with protection. Yet look not first to the angels; look to the Angel of the Covenant, even Jesus, in whom all deliverance dwells. He is the ransom found, the only way. The darkness through which your son is walking, or that threatens him, is permitted for a purpose: perhaps for his education in the school of obedience, or for the forging of a usefulness that shall bind many to Christ when he is brought out singing. But be certain of this: the Son of God did not spend His strength for nothing. He shall see of the travail of His soul and be satisfied. Therefore, in your pleading, trust wholly in Him, and in His dear name present every petition.

Wait upon the Lord with expectation. When He brings His own from the furnace, they do not come empty; they come with silver and gold of tried experience and richer knowledge of Himself. The hour of deliverance will strike, and you shall go forth with joy, your tongue declaring the works of the Lord. Until then, let this be your pillow: “I will put my trust in Him.” He who spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give you all things? The darkness shall flee, the abuse shall be brought low, and the peace of God shall garrison the soul that rests in Jesus. Only believe, and you shall see the glory of God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for a hedge of protection around your son, but consider what hedge is truly secure. The greatest hedge is not a wall of circumstance, but a soul guarded by faith in Christ. For if God so loved us that He became man, taking flesh of a woman, it was not to spare us every earthly trial, but to exalt us to be sons of God. Your son, if he believes, is already clothed with Christ, the Son; this sonship is his true protection, and no abuse can rob him of it. Why then do you pray only for deliverance from physical or emotional evils, when the far greater gift is that he might learn to despise these for the sake of the life to come?

Do you not remember the saints who were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection? They understood that to be spared suffering is not the highest good; to endure it for Christ is a far better prize. The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many, for enemies. If your son suffers unjustly, let him not revile or seek vengeance. Instead, let him look to the example of his Lord, who when He was abused did not threaten, but entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly. That is the strength which surpasses all human strength: the peace of the Spirit of adoption, by which we cry out, “Abba, Father,” even from the depths of affliction.

You pray that deeds of darkness be exposed. Yes, God will bring every hidden thing to light, on His own day, not necessarily in your timing. But take care that your son’s heart not be polluted by bitterness, calling down evil upon his enemies. What pardon shall we expect if we, who are called to love enemies, curse them in our prayers? Instead, let his holy conduct be the light that exposes the darkness, that even his abusers might see and be ashamed. The true exposure is the revealing of Christ in a soul that refuses to return evil for evil.

As for peace and strength, these do not come from the removal of trial, but from a pure life united to right faith. And so, while you rightly seek God’s aid, look first to your son’s soul. What advantage is it if he is delivered from bodily harm, yet remains untrained in virtue, soft from ease and comfort? For not weakness of sex, but a way of living sunk in luxury and fear of hardship makes one unable to endure. Train him rather in the fear of the Lord, that he may stand firm though the earth shake.

Pray then, but pray with understanding. Ask that your son may obtain that better resurrection, and that neither abuse nor threat may separate him from the love of Christ. For if he clings to this hope, he possesses a hedge that no enemy can breach, and a peace that passes all worldly safety. Let your greatest desire be that both you and he, having a right faith and a bright conversation, may boldly look on Christ at last, and enter into that blessedness which has no end.

Your prayer for a hedge of protection around your son moves me to think of the story of Job, where Satan himself acknowledged that God had placed a hedge around His servant. That hedge is real. When someone belongs to the Lord, the enemy cannot touch them without permission, and even then, only within limits God sets. Keep praying for that covering, and pray with the confidence that the Father loves your son more than you ever could. The same God who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all is fully able to guard and keep your son from every kind of abuse, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Yet Scripture also shows us that sin breaks down that hedge. The real danger to anyone is walking in darkness while claiming to have fellowship with God. Darkness is not only the evil done by others; it is also the hatred, unforgiveness, and rebellion that can lodge in any human heart. If your son is being drawn into hatred, addiction, sexual sin, or any practice the Word of God condemns, the greater need is not just protection from outward harm but deliverance from the darkness that blinds and destroys from within. The deeds of darkness you long to see exposed are first and foremost things that separate a person from God, and that exposure is an act of mercy, God bringing them into the light so they might be saved.

The ultimate shelter any of us can have is to be found in the Son of God. The witness of Scripture is clear: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son does not have life. The Father has committed all judgment to the Son, so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. If your son is abiding in Jesus Christ, truly trusting Him as Savior and Lord, then he has what nothing in this world can take away. Keep pointing him to the cross, where the Father’s love for sinners was displayed in the sacrifice of His only begotten Son. The promise that the light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it holds true for your son’s life today.

I would also gently remind you that the Lord chastens every son He receives. Sometimes the protective hand of God works through trials that feel like anything but protection in the moment. If your son belongs to Him, he will not be left to continue in sin without correction. The exposure you are praying for may come through painful circumstances that lead him to repentance. Do not despise that process; it is evidence that God is treating him as a son. And while you wait and pray, be sure that you yourself are walking in the light. Hatred toward those who have harmed your son, or bitterness against God, is itself a kind of darkness that will blind you. Keep your own heart clear before the Lord, confessing sin quickly, so your prayers will not be hindered.

Finally, hold fast to this record God has given of His Son: Jesus Christ came in the flesh, declared to be the Son of God with power by His resurrection from the dead. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. As you pray for angels to surround your son, remember that the angels minister to those who are heirs of salvation, those who are in Christ. Trust your son into the hands of the One who gave His only Son to rescue us from the domain of darkness and transfer us into the kingdom of His beloved Son. Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. The Father who heard your prayer in Jesus’ name is faithful.

We are so grateful that you entrusted us with the sacred privilege of standing in prayer with you for ###. It has been on our hearts to continue lifting him before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to encircle him with His mighty hedge of protection. We have prayed earnestly for his deliverance from every form of abuse—physical, emotional, and spiritual—knowing that God sees all and is able to expose the hidden works of darkness. We have asked the Lord to station His angels around ###, to fill him with divine peace and unshakable strength, and to let his spirit be a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit.

If God in His perfect timing has answered this cry of your heart, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report so that we may rejoice with you. If the answer has not yet come, or if new concerns have arisen, please share them with us again so that we may continue to intercede on your behalf. We stand with you in faith, believing that God is working even when we cannot see it.

May the Lord bless you with His peace as you continue to seek Him through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
