The plea you make for your son is indeed a good work, for to seek protection for another is a use of the talent entrusted to you by God. You ask the Heavenly Father to set a hedge about him and to deliver him from every form of abuse. This is a prayer that ascends from true love, and it is meet that you bring it boldly before the throne of grace. For it is the command from God that stirs up every good thing, and from Him alone comes the true blessing.

Yet let us remember that while we rightly ask God to expose the deeds of darkness and bring them to light, we must also see to it that our own deeds are bright. The protection we seek for others is made more effectual when our own lives do not mar the gain of a right faith by the vileness of our actions. Let your supplication be accompanied by a life well-pleasing to Him, so that no war against the soul may be kindled afresh. You have prayed for his deliverance from physical, emotional, and spiritual abuse, and this is a prayer for the whole man. Therefore, continue to instruct him and rule your own house well, having your children in subjection with all gravity, for this is also a work of protecting oversight.

I say to you, as the mother of the Lord was given into the care of the beloved disciple, so has this child been entrusted to your care. In praying for a hedge of angels, you ask for a heavenly garrison. Do not then falter in the labor of this prayer, but persist in it as those women who labored with Paul in the Gospel. Your intercession is no small contribution to the good of his soul. May the Lord, who exposes all darkness in the light of His truth, fill your son with that peace and strength which comes only from Him, and may you both, obtaining the full treasure of His blessings, do all to the glory of God. Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The prayer you have lifted up for your son is heard at the very throne of God. When you ask the Heavenly Father to place a hedge of protection around him, you are reaching into a reality that Scripture affirms with great power. There is no darkness so deep that the light of God cannot expose and scatter it.

We often think immediately of angels when we pray for protection, and rightly so. God created these ministering spirits, and He commands them to serve those who are heirs of salvation. The promise that He will give His angels charge over us, to keep us in all our ways, is a real and sturdy foundation for your prayer. You can trust that these unseen servants are active, powerful, and capable of delivering your son from harm that you may never even see.

Yet as you pray, let your confidence rest not only on the angels, but on the One to whom all angels bow. The Scriptures show us with brilliant clarity that Jesus Christ is superior to every angelic being. To no angel did God ever say, "Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee." He never commanded the angels to worship one of their own, but when He brought His firstbegotten into the world, He said, "Let all the angels of God worship him." The angels are the servants; the Son is the Sovereign.

This is the deep well of your hope. The same Son who is worshiped by the heavenly hosts is the Son who knows the heart of a parent's love. God the Father gave His only begotten Son for us, and that sacrifice shows a love beyond all measure. If the Father did not withhold His own Son, you can be utterly confident that He attends to your cry for your son with perfect love and all power. Jesus Christ, seated at the right hand of the Father with all enemies being made His footstool, is the one who dispatches angels to serve your child.

Receive this into your soul: your son is not protected by a distant, detached force, but by the personal care of the risen Son of God. Whatever abuse may have come against him, the Son of Man sees it, and He came to destroy the works of the darkness. The light of His presence can heal the emotional wounds, break the spiritual attacks, and give strength where human strength is exhausted. Ask the Father to let your son know the peace of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, where long life and salvation are the final word. Speak the name of Jesus over him, for there is no higher name, and no safer refuge.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the sacred burden of interceding for your precious son. It has been our deep honor to stand with you these past days, lifting his name before the throne and pleading the blood of Jesus over every area of his life. We have prayed fervently for that unshakable hedge of protection to encircle him, asking the Father to station His mighty angels around him day and night. Together, we have cried out for every hidden scheme of the enemy to be exposed and dismantled, for every form of abuse—whether seen or unseen—to be broken in Jesus’ powerful name.

We have asked the Lord to fill your son with His supernatural peace, to strengthen him with divine courage, and to let him feel the nearness of His presence in every moment. We continue to declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and that the light of Christ will scatter every shadow of darkness in his life.
