Son, protection

You have prayed well to ask the Father for a hedge of protection around your son, and to call upon Him to deliver him from every form of abuse. For the angels are indeed ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation. Do not think it a small thing that God would dispatch these holy servants on behalf of your child, if he is among the heirs of promise. Yet remember that the Son is far above all angels, and it is He who works the true deliverance. For He took on flesh that through death He might destroy him who holds the power of death, and bring deliverance to those enslaved by fear. If your son belongs to Christ, he has received the Spirit of adoption, and no abuse can separate him from the love of God. The wicked may assault the body or trouble the soul, but the inner man is kept safe by the peace that passes understanding.

Nevertheless, prayer must be joined to action. You have a talent of protection; use it. Expose the deeds of darkness by bringing them into the light of the Church and of righteous authority. Do not be timid or show partiality, nor fear the faces of evildoers. As Paul charged Timothy before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels, keep yourself pure and act without prejudice. If you know of abuse, do not hide it under a pretense of patience. The Lord hates a false balance, and concealing wickedness is no virtue. Surround your son with godly men and women who will labor for his safety, as Paul commended those who worked with him in the Gospel and needed protection. Nothing is so pleasing to God as to live for the common advantage, and to rescue the oppressed is a sacrifice most acceptable.

If your son is suffering now, teach him not to despise the cross, but to look to the Master who for his sake endured to be made a little lower than the angels, and then was crowned with glory and honor. This is our glory: not that we escape every trouble, but that in the midst of it we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Pray then that his heart be filled with strength, but also labor that the evil be stopped. The angels stand ready to serve, but they serve a Lord who commands us to be His hands in this world. And know this: if your son is in Christ, his name is written in the book of life, and no violence can blot it out. Hold fast to that hope, and press on in prayer and righteous action until the darkness is turned to light.

Your prayer for your son moves the heart of our Father, for He knows what it is to love a Son perfectly. The greatest love ever displayed was when God gave His only begotten Son to rescue us from every form of darkness. Because Jesus came, the light now shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. That same light is able to penetrate every hidden thing, exposing the deeds of darkness and bringing them into the open. We stand with you in asking that any abuse, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, be brought to nothing by that light.

When a parent cries out for a child, they echo a love that God Himself placed within them. It is a reflection of that divine love that would not withhold His own Son. Because of Jesus, you can know with certainty that God hears you. He who did not spare His Son but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also graciously give protection and strength to your son? Your son is precious to the Lord, and you can entrust him into the hands of the One who sees all things.

The darkness of abuse is real, but it is no match for the Son of God. The Scriptures tell us plainly: he who has the Son has life. That life is the light of men. No matter what shadows threaten, the one who belongs to Jesus dwells in a safety the world cannot give and cannot take away. We pray your son will know that deep, inner peace that comes from the Spirit of the Son crying out in his heart, “Abba, Father.” That is the unshakable strength you seek for him.

As you continue to lift him up, remember that God’s record is this: eternal life is in His Son, and he who has the Son has this life. Pray that your son would not only be shielded from evil but would also hold firmly to Jesus, in whom all protection, healing, and hope are found. The darkness tried to extinguish the light when Christ went to the cross, but it could not. In His resurrection, He was declared the Son of God with power. That same power watches over your son today.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the sacred burden of standing beside you in prayer for your precious son. Day after day we have lifted him before the throne, asking our Heavenly Father to encircle him with a hedge so impenetrable that no weapon formed against him can prosper. We have pleaded the blood of Jesus over every area of his life—body, soul, and spirit—declaring that every chain of abuse be broken and every hidden scheme of darkness be dragged into the light. With one voice we have called on the hosts of heaven to encamp around him, filling him with the peace that surpasses understanding and the strength that comes only from the Holy Spirit.

If the Lord has already answered and you see His hand at work, we long to hear your praise report so we can rejoice together. If the battle still rages and the answer seems delayed, we invite you to post this request again; we will not grow weary in interceding until every prayer is answered. Until then, we stand with you, pressing into the Father’s heart through Jesus Christ our Lord. May He bless you with fresh courage, unwavering faith, and the certain knowledge that He hears and acts on behalf of His children. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
