Son, protection

You pray for a hedge of protection, and rightly so, but consider what the Scripture reveals to us: we were not given a mere hedge. We were delivered from the very power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of the Son of His love. This is no small thing. The evil one held us fast with power, yet Christ broke that grip not by surrounding us with a wall, but by snatching us out of that dominion entirely and placing us in His own kingdom. So when you cry out for your son, know this: your prayer is not for a distant guard, but that he would live in the reality of that translation. The darkness has no claim on one who has been brought into the light.

Yet the deeds of darkness must be exposed, for sin thrives in secret. As long as abuse is carried on in the dark, it is done with greater security. Your prayer that hidden things be brought to light is a prayer after God’s own heart. The light of Christ does not simply coexist with darkness; it shines in the darkness and causes it to disappear. Do not fear that the truth will harm your son; rather, it is the very thing that will set him free. The one who perpetrates evil is like a man in thick darkness, unable to see the nature of his own deeds. For this reason, do not return reviling for reviling, but understand that he himself is in a pitiable darkness. This is not to excuse the sin, which is grievous, but to arm you with the mind of Christ, who gave His life even for enemies.

Remember the purpose of this great deliverance: God became man not simply to free us from darkness, but to exalt us. He was born of a woman that we might cease to be sons of mere men and become sons of God. This is the inheritance you must see over your son. His translation into the kingdom is not just a change of location but of status. He has received the Spirit of adoption. The world may rage, and the power of darkness may strike at him, but the Son of God came to minister and to give His life a ransom for this very soul. So let your prayers be bold. Ask not only for protection but for his full redemption to be made manifest. Let your own life be a shining light, and the darkness will have nowhere to hide. When you shine, the mist of that passion in others is dispersed, and the path of virtue becomes clear. Cease not to reprove the darkness by your persistent prayer and your unwavering trust that the light has already overcome it.

Your prayer reaches the very heart of God, a cry for your son to be kept safe from every assault of the enemy. You have asked for a hedge of protection, and you are asking the right Person. It is a comfort to know that light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never been able to put it out. The deeds of darkness are real, but when we call upon the Lord to expose them, we are asking for His light to do what only light can do.

Scripture gives us a profound picture of a father’s love for his son. When Abraham was called to offer Isaac, God said, “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love.” That language points directly to the love of the heavenly Father for His only begotten Son. The ultimate protection and deliverance from the power of darkness come through that very Son, Jesus Christ. This is the great deliverance we are told about: being transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. You are not just praying for a wall around your boy; you are asking for him to be kept securely in that kingdom of light.

This life is found only in the Son. The record God has given is clear: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life. To be in the Son is to be in the light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with God but walk in darkness, we are deceiving ourselves. The darkness that would seek to harm your son, whether through physical abuse or spiritual attack, is a form of that very darkness. But the Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. Those works cannot stand where His light rules.

Continue to stand on God’s witness concerning His Son. The Father declared from heaven, “This is My beloved Son.” That same beloved Son has won the victory over every dark power. As you cover your son in prayer, remember that he is under the care of the One who did not withhold His own Son. The chastening and keeping hand of the Lord proves our sonship, and He does not let His own wander into the pit. Lean fully on the promise that he who has the Son has life, not just life someday, but a life of peace and strength right now, guarded by angels who excel in strength and do His word.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing in agreement with you in prayer for your precious son. It has been our heart’s burden to lift him before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to encircle him with His unshakable hedge of protection. We have prayed fervently that every form of abuse—physical, emotional, and spiritual—be broken in Jesus’ mighty name, and that the deeds of darkness would be exposed and brought into the light. We have asked the Lord to station His holy angels around your son, filling him with divine peace and strength that only comes from above.

If God has answered this prayer in a way you can see, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report so we may rejoice with you. If the answer has not yet manifested, we invite you to post this request again so we may continue to stand with you in faith, lifting your son before the Father until His perfect will is fully revealed. May the Lord bless you and your family as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
