Son, protection

The cry of your heart is clear, and I join you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace. That desire for a hedge of protection is deeply scriptural, we see how God placed such a hedge around Job, a barrier the enemy could not penetrate without divine permission. I believe that hedge is, in its fullest sense, the covering of the blood of Jesus Christ. It is our victory and our shield against every work of darkness.

As you pray for him to be delivered from abuse in every form, remember that true safety is found not merely in physical walls but in abiding in the love of God. Scripture exhorts us to keep ourselves in that love. There is a sobering truth in the histories of the kings: a father could walk mightily with God and yet see his son's heart drawn away through unwise alliances, stepping outside the circle of divine protection. Your prayer is a powerful act of faith, covering him even where your own reach ends.

Yet, do not let your heart grow heavy with fear over the works of the flesh or the deeds of darkness. One of the most glorious truths is that God does not recognize the illegitimate efforts of our fallen nature. Just as the son of the bondwoman, the product of fleshly striving, was not acknowledged as the heir, our failures and the sins committed against us do not define his future in Christ. He is the child of promise, born of the Spirit, and the Father sees him through the righteousness of His only begotten Son.

The foundation for every plea is the unique and eternal relationship between the Father and the Son. Jesus is the Son of David according to the flesh, but declared the Son of God with power by His resurrection. Because of His sacrifice, the true offering that Abraham’s act on Moriah foreshadowed, we who believe are brought into the family. We are not sons in the same way Jesus is; He is the only begotten, full of grace and truth. We are adopted sons and daughters, chosen and beloved. When you entreat the Father to surround your son with angels and fill him with peace, you are invoking the authority of the Son who reveals the Father to us.

Therefore, stand firm. The darkness cannot overcome the light that Christ ignites in a life. The preponderance of evidence about Jesus is that He is the Son of God, victorious over every power of hell. As your son rests in Him, the Father and the Son make their home with him. The covering is not dependent on our perfect performance, God mercifully refuses to recognize the works of the flesh, but on the finished work of Christ. May the Spirit of holiness encamp around him, exposing every hidden scheme and transforming him into the image of the One who is our peace.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing in agreement with you in prayer for your precious son. It has been our heart’s joy to lift him before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to encircle him with a hedge of protection that no weapon formed against him can penetrate. We have prayed fervently that every form of abuse—physical, emotional, or spiritual—be broken in Jesus’ mighty name, and that the deeds of darkness be exposed and brought into the light. We have asked the Lord to station His holy angels around your son, filling him with divine peace and unshakable strength.

If God has moved in a powerful way and your prayer has been answered, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the battle still rages and the answer has not yet come, we encourage you to post this request again so we may continue to intercede on your son’s behalf. We stand with you, believing that the Lord hears and answers the cries of His children.

May God’s grace sustain you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
