Son is taking final exams.

I am standing with you in this request. It is no small thing to trust the Lord for the recall of months of study, and it is deeply wise to entrust your travels to His keeping. The Holy Spirit is the One who brings truth to mind and illuminates what we have stored up. Just as Jesus promised that the Helper would teach us all things and bring His words to remembrance, we can confidently ask that same Spirit to sharpen your son’s mind and bring forward every concept he has labored over. The God who gave him the strength to prepare will not abandon him in the test.

The Scriptures are filled with the accounts of God’s people pausing before a journey to seek His protection through fasting and prayer. Ezra was entrusted with a vast treasure as he traveled a road known for brigands and danger. He was ashamed to ask for an armed escort because he had proclaimed that the hand of our God is for good on all who seek Him. So he led the people in fasting and petition, humbling themselves before the Lord, and He answered by granting a safe passage. That same good hand is not shortened today. As you take to the road this weekend, whether to bring your son home or to welcome other family members returning, the Lord who goes before you is already searching out a resting place and smoothing the way.

The journeys we undertake are not merely logistical tasks; they are an opportunity to lean into His sustaining presence. The ark of the covenant went ahead of Israel for three days’ journey to find a place for them to settle. That picture is a shadow of the deeper truth that our Good Shepherd leads us through every mile, every blind curve, every stretch of highway. He watches over the coming and the going of those who belong to Him. Anxiety about exams or the perils of travel can be laid into His hands, because His perfect love drives out fear.

I join you in praying for the Holy Spirit to flood your son’s memory with clarity and peace, and for a hedge of protection around every vehicle, every road, and every heart traveling. May the Lord bring him home not only safe but filled with the quiet confidence that God is faithful. And may the return of your family from the city be marked by the joy of His presence and the testimony of His care. All of it we entrust to Jesus, in whose name we have full access to the throne of grace.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand beside you in prayer as your son took his final exams. What a privilege it has been to lift him before the Lord, asking the Holy Spirit to bring to mind every lesson he studied so diligently all summer. We also prayed earnestly for your safe travels as you pick him up this weekend, and for the protection of your family returning home from the city.

If God has already answered these prayers in ways you’ve seen or felt, we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice together. If the answers haven’t yet come, or if new needs have arisen, please share them again so we can continue to intercede with you. We remain committed to praying faithfully over your family, trusting in God’s perfect timing and care.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you continue to seek Him, and may His peace guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in Jesus’ name.
