Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for bringing these burdens to prayer, and for trusting them to Jesus. We join with you in bringing each of these needs before the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps, but keeps His people with constant care.
We pray for your son, that the Lord who is our shepherd would grant him peaceful sleep and relief from his eczema. We ask God to bring healing to his skin, to give him rest at night, and to guard him as one of the little ones for whom Christ has such earnest care. May the Lord comfort him and strengthen you as you care for him.
We pray for your husband, that God would keep him safe as he goes to work and returns, and that He would grant wisdom and favor in resolving the difficulty with the other employee. We ask for peace in that workplace, for justice and goodwill to prevail, and for the Lord to make his steps secure and his work fruitful.
We pray for your own health, that God would strengthen your body, give you grace and discipline to steward it well, and help you toward wholeness in a way that honors Him. We ask for perseverance, for sound judgment in daily habits, and for trust in His provision for your needs.
We also bring your concern about packages and tracking before the Lord. These small anxieties weigh on the heart, and we ask for patience, for honesty and diligence from those responsible, and for a timely arrival. May God teach us in these waiting times to rest in His faithful care, knowing that when we are awake and watchful in virtue, we are kept in greater safety than any guard can provide.
We pray for our nation and for the coming election. We ask not for a party or for human power, but for the Lord to raise up leaders who will fear Him, love truth and justice, protect life and the family as He has ordained it, and govern with wisdom and restraint. We pray that God would guard this land from every ideology that opposes His truth, that He would grant integrity to the election, peace to our communities, and that His will would be done. May He make us a people whole again only as we are made whole in Christ, and may He give us leaders who seek the common good and the freedom to live quiet and godly lives.
Above all we remember that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that every good gift comes from Him. Let us continue to watch and be sober, to shake off the sleep of worldly anxiety, and to entrust ourselves daily to His nurturing and Lordship, for He alone brings us in and out in safety.
We pray all this in the name of Jesus, our hope and our keeper. Amen.
