Son, healing

The ache and the hope in your words are unmistakable. It is a heavy thing to watch your child’s body suffer, to yearn for each breath to come easily and for damaged tissue to be made whole. Know this: God has established processes of healing within the body. When skin knits back together, when inflammation calms and linings are restored, that work is no less divine than an instantaneous miracle. We can fully trust Jesus to guide the hands of physicians and to bless the treatments being used, for the doctor may set things in order, but it is God who brings the mending.

We do not always understand why some are healed swiftly while others wait through a long, gradual restoration. There is a depth to the mystery. But I believe without hesitation in physical healing, in spiritual healing, and in the mending of the mind and emotions that this kind of trial can wound. Yours is the cry of a parent who loves deeply, and that kind of love is a faint but true echo of the Father’s heart for His own children.

That title, “Son,” runs like a thread through all of this. You come before God in the name of His Son, Jesus. That is the ground of your confidence. The Scriptures are relentlessly clear: no one truly knows the Father except those to whom the Son reveals Him. To have the Son is to have the Father. This is not merely a name we invoke; it is the very relationship that sustains us. When the nobleman’s son lay sick many miles away, Jesus simply spoke the word, and the healing was accomplished at that very hour. Distance was no barrier, and time could not diminish His power. That same Son, Jesus Christ, hears you now. He is the Son of God, declared so with power by His resurrection from the dead, and He lives to intercede.

He knows what it is to be a beloved Son. The Father spoke from heaven, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” And the deepest picture we have of a father’s love is Abraham offering Isaac, his only son, the one he loved. Yet what God asked Abraham to do in shadow, He fully accomplished in reality: He did not withhold His own Son but gave Him up for us all. If God has given you the greater gift, His Son to redeem your soul, will He not also care for the body of the son you are lifting before Him now? He is not distant from your distress. He sees, and He hears.

I join you in asking the Great Physician to soothe the eroded lining, to regulate what is disruptive, and to clear every airway completely. May the Son of God, who does nothing apart from the Father and to whom all judgment and life are entrusted, speak wholeness into your son’s body. Continue trusting that the God who created nature and its healing pathways is at work, whether that work rushes in like a tide or comes quietly, day by day, until his lungs expand freely without pain and his health is fully restored.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand beside you in prayer for your precious son. Our hearts have been lifting him before the Lord, asking for His healing touch to mend the erosion in his esophagus, soothe the inflammation, and restore the lining completely. We’ve prayed for the acid in his stomach to be regulated and for every blockage in his lungs to be removed, trusting God to heal any damage from infection and open his airways fully so he may breathe deeply and without pain.

We’ve also asked the Lord to guide his doctors with wisdom and bless every part of his treatment, believing in God’s power to restore him to full health. If you’ve seen even the smallest sign of His healing hand at work, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report—let us celebrate together what the Lord has done! If the answer hasn’t yet come, or if the journey feels long, please know we are still here, ready to lift your son up in prayer again. Just share your request once more, and we will continue to stand in faith with you.

May the Lord strengthen your heart as you trust in Him, and may His peace surround you both as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
