Son/healing/repairs/husband's schedule, money and training this week

Beloved of All
Jesus please let my son go to sleep. He is staying up way too late and will not listen to me and gets very mad if I tell him to go to sleep. I cannot physically handle it because I have to stay up as well since he cannot be up alone due to his disability. Please let these late nights stop, it has been going on for months and nothing works and his doctor won't prescribe anything, even if he did, I don't want him taking sleeping pills. Please also let my husband be able to afford and make the repairs for our house. Please also let his boss give him his schedule, I need to know when he works so I can schedule everything around it. Please also let us have enough money for everything and let his training go well this week, and let him get there and back safely. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We hear your heart and how weary you must be after months of late nights, and we join with you in bringing all of these burdens before the Lord together. Caring for a son with a disability that requires you to stay awake with him is a heavy and sacrificial calling, and we know the Lord sees your faithfulness and your exhaustion. We also hear your concern for your husband, your home, your finances and his work and training this week.

The Lord gives sleep as a gift to His beloved, for He gives sleep to his beloved Psalm 127:2 and we pray He will pour that gift out upon your son and upon your household. In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8. We pray for your son that the Lord would calm his spirit, soften his heart toward obedience, and grant him a peaceful rhythm of rest. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right Ephesians 6:1, and we pray the Lord will help your son to listen and to receive your loving instruction without anger, even as we pray for you for wisdom and strength to guide him consistently and gently. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it Proverbs 22:6. We understand you do not want him on sleeping pills and that his doctor has not prescribed anything, and we respect that desire to seek natural and godly means for rest. We encourage you to continue to seek wise counsel, perhaps a second medical opinion or a behavioral specialist who understands his disability, and to ask for help from your husband, family, or church family so you are not carrying this alone. God has placed us in families and in the body of Christ to bear one another's burdens Galatians 6:2. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5, and we ask the Lord to give you fresh wisdom for bedtime routines, calming activities, and boundaries that help your son feel secure and ready for sleep.

We also lift up your husband and your home. The Lord knows your need for repairs, for a clear work schedule so you can order your household well, for provision, and for safety and success in training. God is not a God of confusion, but of peace 1 Corinthians 14:33, and we pray He will move upon your husband's boss to release his schedule in a timely way and to grant favor in his work. We pray for skill and provision for the repairs, and that the Lord who is our provider will meet every need. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. Seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. We pray He will give your husband strength and a sound mind in his training, and keep him safe as he goes and returns, for Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more Psalm 121:8.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You and thank You that You hear us when we call. We lift up this dear mother who is so tired from many months of sleepless nights, and we ask You to renew her strength, for You give power to the weak and to him who has no might you increase strength Isaiah 40:29. Pour out Your peace upon this home, calm this precious son, and grant him deep, restful sleep night after night. Soften his heart to obey and help him to rest without anger or resistance, and give his mother and father unity, patience, and wisdom as they shepherd him. Lord, we ask You to provide for every financial need, to make a way for the house repairs to be completed well and affordably, to give order to this husband's work schedule, to bless his training this week, and to bring him safely there and back again. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and we cast all these cares upon You now, trusting Your loving care. Let Your will be done in this family and let Your presence bring rest to their hearts and home. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We can hear how worn down you must feel after months of late nights. Loving your son and staying up to keep him safe because of his disability, trying to set a bedtime and being met with anger, and then having to carry the next day without sleep is a lot to hold. It makes sense you feel physically unable to keep going like this.

We are holding all the other burdens you named with you too, the waiting for your husband's schedule so you can plan, the house repairs, the need for enough money to cover everything, and his training and travel this week.

One small step that has helped other caregivers in this kind of strain is to keep a simple sleep log for a week or two, just noting bedtimes, wake times, evening activities and what seems to come before the late nights, to share with his doctor or clinic. Since you would rather avoid sleep medicines, that record can give his care team a clearer picture to talk through routines and other non-medication supports, and they may also know of local resources for respite and caregiver support. If the exhaustion keeps building, please keep reaching out to his providers and to a trusted person nearby for help, alongside prayer.

Father, we lift this family to You. Please bring more peaceful nights for her son and restorative rest for her, give wisdom to his care team and help with daily routines, provide for the home repairs and finances, bring clarity with her husband's schedule, and keep him safe going to and from training this week. Give them Your steady strength and peace day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has come before us and we have carried it to the throne of grace, where our heavenly Father delights to hear the cries of His children.

We feel deeply the weight you carry in these long and weary nights. To watch by the bedside of a beloved child, night after night, when sleep will not come, is a trial that only love can sustain. As it has been said, a mother tires not of watching by the bedside of her sick child because love sustains her and love props her drooping eyelids. The Lord sees you in that watch. He knows that you cannot leave your son alone due to his disability, and that his restlessness becomes your own weariness. Take comfort that sleep is not a thing to be forced by our own striving, but a gift from the hand of our God. For so He giveth His beloved sleep. He it is who rocks the cradle for us every night and draws the curtain of darkness and bids us rest. We have asked the Lord that He would bestow upon your son that sweet and needful rest, that tired nature's sweet restorer, balmy sleep, which refreshes the body and calms the spirit. We have prayed also that He would quiet his spirit when he is told it is time for rest, and soften that anger which rises up in him, and make him as a weaned child upon his mother's breast, content and still in his soul. We pray for wisdom for you, that the Lord would guide you to such means as are wholesome and right for ordering his evenings, and for patience to endure this long season which has now stretched to months.

You have heard of the patience of Job, that patience of a greatly tried man who could not have exhibited patience if he had not endured trial. The Lord is teaching you that same pearl of patience in these nights and in these many cares at home. He does not leave His own without strength for the trial He appoints.

We have also brought before the Lord your husband and all that concerns your household. We have asked that the Lord would provide for the repairs your house requires, and grant your husband skill and means to accomplish them. We have prayed that his boss would grant him his schedule in good time, that you might order your household with prudence and peace. We have asked our Father, who knows our need for daily bread, to supply all that you require and to give you enough for everything that is needful, for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask Him. And for your husband's training this week, we have prayed that the Lord would give him understanding and favor, and keep him in safety as he goes and as he returns, for the Lord preserveth the going out and the coming in of His people.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, who givest sleep to Thy beloved and who watchest over Thy children without slumber, look in mercy upon this mother and her son. Grant to this dear child the gift of quiet and timely sleep, calm his spirit, and let his nights be ordered in peace. Sustain his mother with strength beyond her own, and renew her body and mind day by day. Provide for this household according to Thy riches, prosper the work of the husband's hands, open the way for the repairs, make plain his schedule, and bless his training. Keep him safe in all his journeys. Make this family to lie down and to rest in Thy loving care, for Thou alone makest us to dwell in safety. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our rest and our portion. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. I hear how exhausted you are after months of late nights, and how heavy it feels to carry your son's care, the needs of your home, and the uncertainty around your husband's work all at once. God sees your faithfulness in staying up with your son because of his disability, and He hears your cry for rest and provision.

I am praying with you for your son. I ask Jesus to bring calm to his body and mind in the evenings, to help him settle and sleep through the night, and to give you wisdom and strength as you guide him. Since the doctor has not prescribed medication and you prefer not to use sleeping pills, I pray God will lead you to gentle and helpful ways to encourage healthy sleep, whether through a consistent bedtime routine, quiet and dark surroundings, limited screens before bed, and continued guidance from his doctor or other trusted caregivers about non medical strategies for sleep. I also pray for your own rest and strength, that the Lord would renew you each day and provide moments of relief and help from family, friends, or your church community when you need to rest.

I am also praying for your home and your husband. I ask the Lord to provide the resources and skill needed for the house repairs, to move his boss to give his schedule in good time so you can plan well, to supply all you need financially, and to grant your husband safety as he travels, clarity and endurance in his training this week, and favor in his work.

Scripture reminds us to bring everything to God. Philippians 4:6 says do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And Psalm 127:2 reminds us that God gives sleep to those He loves, and He is the one who sustains us when we are weary. You are not alone in this.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus I lift up this mother and her family to You. Give this dear son peaceful sleep and a calm spirit at night, and give his mother strength, patience, and deep rest. Provide for every repair and financial need according to Your riches, guide the husband's boss to communicate his schedule clearly, bless the training this week, and keep this husband safe going and coming. Let Your peace guard this home and let Your presence be felt each night and each day. Amen.

Your honest description of how exhausted you are is heard, and your love for your son and for your husband comes through clearly. God sees the long nights you have endured, the way you stay awake to keep your son safe because of his disability, and the weight you carry for your home, your finances, and your husband's work. He cares about each of these burdens.

For your son, Scripture gives a beautiful and steady view of children. Jesus placed a little child in the midst of his disciples and taught that we are to become humble like a child, to receive a child in His name as receiving Him, and to take care never to despise one of these little ones. That tells us how precious your son is to the Lord, and how blessed your care for him is. The Bible also teaches to train up a child in the way he should go, and the phrase points to training according to his way, recognizing that each child is different in personality and capacity. With a child who has a disability that difference is even more important. Training is a steady, systematic work, much like teaching a child to walk. You expect stumbling, you protect from falling as best you can, you are patient, and you keep guiding with love.

That training also calls for loving consistency. Scripture says foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child and that a child left to himself will bring sorrow, but it also warns against harshness or neglect that breaks the bond between parent and child. Laxity that lets a child do whatever he wants does not help him, and harshness that crushes him does not help either. What helps is calm, patient, loving instruction that is suited to what he can understand, repeated consistently, with clear and gentle boundaries around sleep. That may mean a simple, predictable evening routine, quiet and low stimulation as night comes, the same loving words and expectations each time, and praise for any step toward rest. It is slow work and it can feel discouraging when for months nothing seems to change, but God honors patient love that keeps teaching.

You mentioned not wanting sleeping pills and that his doctor will not prescribe them. It is wise to keep seeking wisdom through prayer and through sound medical counsel without relying on medication as the answer for sleep. Like Hannah who prayed for her child and then gave him back to the Lord, and like David who prayed earnestly while his child was ill and then rested in God's gracious will, you can keep bringing your son to the Lord in honest prayer. God sometimes delays an answer not because He does not hear, but to deepen our trust and to shape our hearts to give our loved ones fully to Him. Keep asking Him for wisdom for bedtime, for a settled spirit for your son when he is told it is time to sleep, for strength for you in your weariness, and for peace in your home at night. Ask Him also to help you find support so you are not carrying the night watches alone whenever that is possible.

For your husband and your home, Scripture shows that God is sovereign over circumstances. Even the place where Jesus was born was brought about as God moved events so that what was foretold would happen, with Mary and Joseph being in the right place at the right time. In the same way God can order schedules, open doors for needed repairs, and provide what is needed for daily life. It is right to ask Him for favor with your husband's employer so the schedule comes in a timely way that lets you plan, for provision to cover repairs and all your needs, and for skill and clarity for your husband in his training and safety as he travels there and back. God promises to supply our needs and to be near to those who call on Him, and He invites us to trust Him with both large and small concerns.

May the Lord give you rest in your own heart even as you wait for more rest at night, and may He give your son a calm and willing spirit in the evenings. May He give you and your husband wisdom to work together in unity, to set loving boundaries that fit your son's needs, and to know you are not alone in this. Keep receiving your son in Jesus name, keep praying with the simple faith of a child, and keep trusting that the One who loves children and who cares for families hears every prayer you pray in Jesus name.

Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this mother and her family to You. You know her exhaustion and her love. We ask You to bring peace to her son at night, to quiet his spirit, to help him receive loving guidance and to learn rhythms of sleep. Give his mother strength, patience, and renewed energy, and provide help and support around her. Provide for this household, make a way for the house repairs, move upon the employer to give a clear schedule, let the training go well, let there be safety in travel, and let there be enough for every need. Draw this whole family closer to You and to one another, and let Your peace rest upon their home. Amen.
