Silas
Beloved of All
Your honest prayer shows both deep love for your son and real weariness in carrying so many burdens at once, and the Lord sees it all. Caring for a child, especially when there are extra challenges like autism, can be labor that leaves you tired to the point of exhaustion. That kind of daily giving, getting up through the night, managing screens and noise, trying to keep the home in order, is sustained only by love, and God honors that faithful love even when you feel you have little strength left.
It is good that you are bringing these needs directly to Jesus. Lasting help and the changes we long for in our homes do not finally come from looking to people, even well meaning helpers, but from looking to Christ himself. Human counsel can sometimes offer practical ideas, but only Jesus can give peace to a heart, patience in a home, wisdom for parenting, and rest for a weary soul. He is called Wonderful Counselor in Scripture, and He invites you to cast your cares on Him because He cares for you and is able to carry you when you feel unable to carry on. You do not have to support Him or hold everything together on your own. He is the One who supports you and carries you.
I will pray with you that the Lord will give you His strength and clear wisdom for your son, for healthy rhythms of sleep, for wise limits with electronics, and for grace to navigate the loud moments that make it hard to think or talk on the phone. God knows your son fully, loves him completely, and understands both his needs and your need for quiet and rest. Ask Jesus to fill your home with His calm, to guide you and your husband as you make decisions together, and to give your husband skill and provision as he works on the leak in the basement.
I also pray that the Lord will provide the right help at the right time if you need someone to talk with, and more than that, that you will sense His own counsel and comfort each day as you seek Him in His Word and in prayer. He has promised to give wisdom generously when we ask Him, to be near to those who call on Him, and to give rest to those who are weary and heavy laden. Keep turning to Him first, trusting that He hears you, that He is at work in your family, and that He will sustain you one day at a time.
Father, in the name of Jesus, lift up this mother and her family. Give her renewed strength, clear guidance for her son, peace in the home, and help with the needs in the house. Draw each heart closer to You and let Your presence be their comfort and support. Amen.
