Your honest prayer has been heard, and thank you for bringing these heavy burdens to the Lord so plainly. The weight you are carrying for your loved one who will not get up or eat, for your husband and the finances of your home, for the strain of unkind words and for the uncertainty with your landlord, is real, and God invites you to cast it all upon Him.
Remember how Jesus taught that a father does not give his child a stone when he asks for bread, or a scorpion when he asks for a fish. Our Father in heaven is far more kind. When you ask Him for help, for strength, for daily bread and for mercy for your family, He hears as a good Father who gives good gifts. He often does not answer in fire or earthquake or rushing wind, but in a still small voice to the heart, giving faith and quiet guidance as you listen and pray. Keep bringing these needs to Him with simple trust, for righteousness and favor with God are not earned by trying harder, but received as a free gift through faith in Jesus Christ. He sees you in Christ and loves you.
You are not meant to carry this alone. The body of Christ is not one member but many, and each part needs the others. It would be strange if the whole body were only one part. You cannot check on your loved one every day by yourself, and God does not expect you to. When someone you love shuts down, stops eating and stays in bed, it is deeply painful, especially after seeing improvement. Pray that she will have the desire and strength to care for herself, and also seek wise help around you. Is there a wise and trusted person in your fellowship, a pastor, a counselor, a doctor, or family member who can share the load, check in, and encourage her toward proper care and nourishment? Eating together and sharing life is a picture of fellowship and unity, and Jesus showed that His presence does not become defiled by our weakness, but His touch cleanses and restores. Continue to love her, pray for her healing, and invite others to help you bear this burden in love, not only thinking of your own strength but of what will build her up and keep you from being overwhelmed.
In your marriage and home, God calls husband and wife to belong to one another and to seek the Lord together. When a family together seeks the Lord, there is strength, yet even when pressures come through work and money, you are called to love Jesus most and to let that love shape how you love your family. Keep praying for your husband's work and for provision for the rent, and speak with him honestly and kindly about what is needed. All things may be allowed, but not all things build up or draw us closer to Christ. Choose what helps you both walk closer to Him, not presuming on His grace, but running with purpose, keeping your own heart and body under His care, and not giving place to murmuring. God disciplines those He loves as sons and daughters, not to crush but to restore, and after His correction comes the peaceable fruit of righteousness and restored fellowship.
When others are rude and dismiss your voice, remember that your first aim is not to please people but to please God. If you sought only to win favor with people you would not be serving Christ. That does not mean harshness in return. Walking in love means considering how your words and actions affect others, not living only for yourself, and seeking not to cause needless offense, while still speaking the truth with grace. And with your landlord, continue to act honestly and respectfully, asking clearly for what is right regarding the rent, trusting God to provide and to give you favor, and giving and handling what you have willingly as God enables you.
May the Lord lift your loved one up, give her appetite and strength and a renewed will to care for herself. May He steady your husband's work and provide for your rent. May He quiet the unkind voices around you and give you wisdom and peace as you respond. And may He answer your email concerning the rent increase with fairness and kindness, and keep your heart established in grace, not in worry, as you trust Him day by day.
Father, in the name of Jesus, we bring this dear one and her family before You. You know the woman who lies in bed without eating, You know the husband and his job, You know the need for rent money and the waiting for an answer from the landlord, and You know the hurt from unkind words. We ask for Your mercy and help. Lift her up, restore her strength, give her desire to eat and to care for herself, and surround her with support. Provide for this home, give wisdom and unity between husband and wife, guard their hearts from bitterness, and let their love for You be first. Give favor and a fair answer regarding the rent, and give peace that passes understanding. We ask this trusting not in our own merit, but in Your grace through Jesus Christ. Amen.
