We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of love and concern for you and those dear to you. It is a blessing to lift up your family, close friends, and those unspoken burdens before our Heavenly Father, who knows every need even before we speak it. We thank God for the love you have for them, for love is the greatest commandment, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’" (Matthew 22:37-39 WEB).
Let us first acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). We are so grateful that you have come in His name, for it is by His blood that we are made clean and by His sacrifice that we are reconciled to God.
Father God, we lift up [this dear one] and their family before You. We ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Lord, we know that You are a God who sees and hears, and we trust You with every unspoken request. You tell us in Your Word, "Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear" (Isaiah 65:24 WEB). We believe that You are already at work in their lives, even in ways they may not yet see.
We pray for their family, Lord. Strengthen the bonds between them, that they may be a source of encouragement and support to one another. Help them to bear one another’s burdens, fulfilling the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). Where there is strife or misunderstanding, bring reconciliation and healing. Teach them to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to love as You have loved us (Colossians 3:13).
For their close friends, Father, we ask that You would draw them closer to You. Surround them with godly influences and fill their hearts with a hunger for Your Word. May they walk in the light as You are in the light, and may their friendships be a reflection of Your love and grace (1 John 1:7).
Lord, we also lift up the unspoken requests. You know the depths of their hearts, the struggles they face, and the fears that keep them awake at night. We ask that You would meet them in those places of need. Comfort them with Your presence, strengthen them with Your power, and fill them with hope that does not disappoint (Romans 5:5). Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or despair that may be trying to take hold in their lives. The Bible tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We declare that fear has no place in their hearts, for You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind.
Father, we also pray for their spiritual walk. May they grow in their relationship with You, seeking Your face daily and delighting in Your Word. Help them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). May they be rooted and grounded in love, strengthened with power through Your Spirit in their inner being (Ephesians 3:16-17).
Lord, if there are any areas in their lives or the lives of their loved ones that do not align with Your will, we ask that You would convict their hearts and lead them to repentance. Your Word tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). We pray for a spirit of humility and obedience, that they may walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which they have been called (Ephesians 4:1).
We also lift up any relationships in their lives, Lord. If there are those who are seeking a spouse, we pray that You would guide them to godly men or women who share their faith and love for You. May their courtships be pure and honorable, with the goal of marriage as You designed it, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). We rebuke any temptation toward fornication, adultery, or impurity, for Your Word is clear: "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints" (Ephesians 5:3 WEB). Strengthen them to flee from sexual immorality and to honor You with their bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).
Father, we ask that You would bless them abundantly, not only with spiritual blessings but also with every good thing they need to live a life that honors You. Provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). May they be a light in this world, reflecting Your love and grace to those around them.
We thank You, Lord, for the privilege of coming before You on their behalf. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness, knowing that You are working all things together for their good, because they love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May they experience Your peace, joy, and presence in a powerful way, and may their lives bring glory to Your name.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
