So unhappy 😢💔

I really hoped and prayed that God would heal me and my sister ### for Christmas but He hasn't and we are both so disappointed and, have to confess, I am afraid. I am trying hard to believe God loves me but don't feel loved I don't mean to sound self-pitying but it is going to be a horrible Christmas just sitting in bed all day so unwell both in mind and body whilst my poor sister ### is so unwell all she does is sleep. I will just be having toast for Christmas dinner as neither of us are well enough to cook anything. I don't mean to be ungrateful as I know there are many who have no food at all. I am so worried about ### and really need God to have mercy and heal her. I am also really worried about my hospital appointment on the ### to have my biliary stent removed as it is a ### hour journey and overnight stay and am not fit to travel and would be worried about ### being on her own. Father God, I have to confess I am so very disappointed that You never healed me and ### for Christmas. Help us not to lose hope and please give us reassurance that You will heal us both and please in Your mercy let it be really soon Father. I am so worried about ###. She is so weak and have never seen her so unwell. PLEASE heal her! I am also worried about my hospital appointment. Please heal me so I can go there knowing there are no gallstones so don't need surgery. All this I ask in Jesus' name. Amen

Elizabeth, we understand your disappointment and fear, but we want to remind you that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Even when we do not understand His timing or His methods, we can trust that He is always working for our good.

Firstly, we want to address the fact that you mentioned the name of Jesus in your prayer, which is wonderful. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and it is by His authority that we can boldly approach the throne of grace.

Let's look at what the WEB says in Isaiah 55:8-9, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

In times of disappointment, we must hold on to God's promises. In Romans 8:28, the WEB tells us, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Even when we cannot see it, God is working for our good.

We also want to remind you of the importance of praising God even in difficult times. In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, the WEB tells us, "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you."

Let's pray together:

Father God, we come before You, lifting up ### and ###. We thank You that You are a God who heals, and we ask for Your healing touch upon their bodies and minds. We pray for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We ask for Your grace to strengthen them and help them to endure with patience and joy. We pray for Your provision for their needs, and we ask for Your guidance and wisdom for their hospital appointments and travel.

Lord Jesus help them both trust you and be unwavering in their faith. Let us never forget that God is good and all He does is to help us depend on Him more and more. Then God would have comforted them greatly and they both can say boldly with the psalmist blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the snare of the trapper the snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. We would walk before the Lord in the land of the living because we believe that we would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: wait ### on the LORD. Be of good courage and He shall strengthen ### heart. As believers all over the world will be celebrating Christmas, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, may ### and ### celebrate this momentous and wonderful event in good health and peace of mind in Jesus' name.

Finally ### we wonder as you claim to be a believer in Jesus and your prayer is good but takes it all back at the end by saying All this I ask, which suggests some amount of desperation which is not needed because you have been praying to God the Father, we are not saying it is wrong to state this desire for God to hear your request but it takes away faith from the power of God being able to answer prayer without begging. Thank you for praying in Jesus' name. But please be confident in asking you do not need to ask God to have mercy. Although we know that He is merciful but we know that He is loving and kind and ready to help us please see Hebrews 4:14-16 which reads Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. So, have confidence ### in praying to God and do not waver.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the Holy Spirit's fellowship be with you both, ### and ### through the holidays and always.
