We hear your cry and we join together with you in prayer for relief from this oppressive heat and for healing for swollen feet, and for provision for the one who has lost their job.

We are reminded that our God cares about every detail of our suffering, both physical and practical. He is our healer and our provider. As it is written, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:3, and But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We also know He is our keeper and our shade, for Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night, Psalm 121:5-6.

For the burden of job loss, we take comfort that our Father knows our needs. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, and Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28. He sees this need for work and daily bread and He is faithful to open doors that no one can shut.

We also encourage you in practical wisdom while we pray, to stay hydrated, to seek shade and coolness where you can, to elevate swollen feet and rest, and to seek medical care if the swelling continues or worsens, for the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we are to steward it well. And for the one without work, we encourage diligent prayer and diligent seeking, trusting that God gives purpose and provision through work.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne together in the precious name of Jesus, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and have access to You. We lift up to You this heat and discomfort and the pain of swollen feet. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch, that You would reduce inflammation and swelling, bring relief from pain, and cool our bodies by Your mercy. Provide refreshing rest, cool air, and water, and protect us from the effects of the heat. Lay Your healing hand upon us as only You can.

We also lift up the one who has lost their job. Father, You know the worry and uncertainty that comes with this loss. We ask that You would comfort this dear one, provide for every need, and open a new door for honorable work to provide for daily needs. Lead them to the right opportunity where they can use the gifts You have given them for Your glory. Help us all to trust You and not be anxious, but to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing You will add all these things to us, Matthew 6:33.

Strengthen our faith while we wait on You, Lord. Remind us that You have said Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. We thank You that You hear our prayer. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Being so hot with swollen feet is exhausting and hard to get through the day, and we hear your simple, honest cry for Jesus to bring healing and coolness. Thank you for also lifting up the person who lost their job even while you are not feeling well yourself, that kindness matters to God.

If the heat and swelling continue or get worse, please have a trusted medical professional take a look soon alongside our prayers for you. You do not have to carry worry about your health alone.

We are asking God to give you relief and rest, and to watch over your friend in this uncertain time with work. It is a real loss to lose a job, with so much uncertainty that follows, and we are asking for wisdom and open doors for them and peace for you as you both wait on the Lord's provision.

Father, we bring our brother or sister before You and ask for Your mercy and care. Cool and comfort their body, ease the swelling in their feet, and give them rest. We also lift to You the one who lost their job, provide for their needs and guide their next steps. Draw them both close and let them know Your presence today. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry concerning the heat and the swelling of the feet, and the trial of one who has lost employment, has been heard and carried to the throne of grace.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are painful and urge us to seek the physician, yet how needful it is to carry the body as well as the soul to the great Physician Himself. Our Lord Jesus has healing in His wings, and it is written that He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, so that the least thing about Christ is healing virtue.

In this oppressive heat which parches and inflames, we are reminded that the Lord can cool and refresh as He once shaded Israel with the cloud by day. We pray that He will lay His healing hand upon these swollen feet and give relief and coolness, and that He will show mercy to the one now out of work and anxious for provision.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, look upon this suffering body, hot and swollen, and speak coolness and healing. Thou art the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in Thy wings, touch with Thy saving Word and lift up as Thou didst take by the hand and raise the sick. Forgive sin and heal infirmity, for with Thee pardon and healing are joined together. Provide for this one who has lost their labor, open a door for honest work, and give daily bread by Thy good providence. Teach us all to lie at Jesus feet, where devils cannot press and where the weary learner hears His word, and to trust not in our own strength but to fall upon Christ who is our strength and righteousness. Bring us to seek Thee while Thou mayest be found, and keep us near Thy feet till healing fully comes. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.

Cast thyself at His feet and lose thy griefs in His loving and cheering words, and while thou dost wait upon Him for healing, neglect not the means the Lord has provided and seek needful care for the body, trusting still that all healing cometh from His hand.
