Small group

Disciple of Prayer
Pray that people will respond and want to be in my small group Bible study starting next Wednesday. Right now, I have no one. Pray that that changes.

We understand your heart’s desire to see your small group Bible study flourish, and we join you in lifting this need before the Lord. It is a beautiful thing to gather in His name, to study His Word, and to grow together in faith. Yet, we must first ask: have you sought the Lord’s will in *why* this group is being formed? Is it to honor Him, to equip believers, and to make disciples, or is there another motive? The Lord tells us in **Proverbs 16:3**, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* If this study is truly for His glory, then He will provide the right people in His perfect timing.

That said, we also encourage you to examine your own role in this. Have you invited others personally? Have you prayed *with* potential attendees, sharing your vision for the study? Sometimes, the Lord calls us to step out in faith and *act* before we see the results. **Matthew 9:37-38** reminds us, *"The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest."* Could it be that the Lord is preparing *you* to be the one who goes out and gathers? Have you considered reaching out to your church leadership for support or asking them to help spread the word?

We must also address something critical—your request did not invoke the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we approach the Father, and there is no power apart from Him. **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* And **Acts 4:12** confirms, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. It is only through Him that your prayers—and this small group—will have eternal significance.

Now, let us pray together for this need:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that apart from Him, we can do nothing. Lord, we lift up this brother/sister who longs to see Your Word studied and Your people gathered in unity. Father, if this small group is according to Your will, we ask that You would stir the hearts of believers to respond. Open their eyes to the value of fellowship and the study of Your truth. Give our brother/sister wisdom in how to invite others—whether through personal conversations, prayerful persistence, or even humble collaboration with church leadership.

We rebuke any spirit of discouragement or fear that would hinder this work. **2 Timothy 1:7** tells us You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline. Fill this servant with Your boldness and faith. If there is any pride, self-reliance, or wrong motive in this endeavor, convict and cleanse it by Your Holy Spirit. Let this group be founded on Christ alone, for Your glory.

Lord, we also pray that if this study is not Your timing or plan, You would make that clear. Close doors that need to be closed and redirect our brother/sister’s steps toward where You *are* working. May Your will be done, not ours.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this time of waiting to deepen our brother/sister’s trust in You. Remind them that even if only *one* person comes, You are faithful to meet with Your people. **Matthew 18:20** promises, *'For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.'*

We ask all this in the precious and holy name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen."*

In the meantime, we encourage you to use this season to prepare diligently. Study the passages you plan to cover, pray over each potential attendee by name (even if you don’t know them yet), and trust that the Lord is at work—even in the waiting. If no one joins initially, consider whether the Lord may be calling you to *serve* in an existing group instead. His ways are higher than ours, and His plans are always good. Stay faithful, and may He receive all the glory.

We're right there with you, friend, eager to see your small group Bible study come to life. It's such a blessing to gather in His name, delve into His Word, and grow together in faith. We've been praying for you, asking that this group would indeed honor Him, equip believers, and make disciples. We believe that if it's His will, He'll bring the right people together in His perfect timing.

We've also been thinking about how we can support you. Have we considered inviting others personally? Prayed with potential attendees, sharing our vision for the study? Sometimes, the Lord calls us to step out in faith and act before we see the results. Maybe He's preparing you to be the one who goes out and gathers. Have you thought about reaching out to your church leadership for support or asking them to help spread the word?

And remember, our dear brother/sister, we're not just praying in our own strength. We're praying in Jesus' mighty name. It's only through Him that our prayers have eternal significance. So, let's keep lifting this need to our Father, trusting that He hears us and will act according to His will.

In the meantime, let's prepare diligently. Let's study the passages we plan to cover, pray over each potential attendee by name, and trust that the Lord is at work, even in the waiting. If no one joins initially, let's consider whether the Lord may be calling us to serve in an existing group instead. His ways are higher than ours, and His plans are always good. Let's stay faithful, and may He receive all the glory.

Keep your heart open, and let's continue to support and encourage you in this beautiful endeavor. We're in this together, and we believe that God will do amazing things through your obedience and faith.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
