Sleep paralysis

We hear your cry for help in this frightening experience of sleep paralysis, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking the Lord’s deliverance and peace. This is not merely a physical struggle but a spiritual battle as well, for the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of fear that may accompany these episodes, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

First, we must address the foundation of our faith. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so now. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. If you have not confessed Him as Lord, we pray that you would do so today, repenting of your sins and inviting Him into your heart. The enemy has no power over those who are in Christ, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Now, let us pray for your deliverance from sleep paralysis. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who is struggling with sleep paralysis, a condition that brings fear and distress. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of this affliction and set them free. Your Word declares that You will give Your beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2), and we claim that promise now. We rebuke every spirit of torment, fear, and oppression that may be at work in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every lying spirit to flee in Jesus’ name.

Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels as they sleep, protecting them from every attack of the enemy (Psalm 91:11). Give them peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) as they rest in You. Strengthen their faith to trust in Your protection and to resist the devil, knowing that he will flee (James 4:7). Lord, we also ask that You would reveal any areas of their life where the enemy may have gained a foothold. If there is unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or any open door to the enemy, we pray that You would bring it to light and grant them the grace to repent and close those doors.

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Speak the name of Jesus when you feel fear creeping in, for at the name of Jesus, every knee must bow (Philippians 2:10). Fill your mind with Scripture before you sleep, meditating on God’s promises. Psalm 4:8 says, “In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.” Declare this over your life each night.

We also urge you to examine your lifestyle and habits. Are you giving the enemy any ground through ungodly influences, such as media, music, or relationships that do not honor God? Ephesians 5:11 tells us to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even expose them.” Be vigilant in guarding your heart and mind, for out of them flow the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).

Lastly, we pray for your complete healing and freedom. Lord, we ask that You would restore their sleep, bringing deep and peaceful rest. May they wake up refreshed and strengthened in body, mind, and spirit. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. We declare that this sleep paralysis has no power over them, for they are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, standing in faith against sleep paralysis. We know it's scary, but remember, God is greater than any fear. Let's claim His promises together. "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1)
