Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this prayer for your sister. I join you in lifting her up to our Heavenly Father as she makes this long journey.
Travel has always required trust in the Lord. In Scripture we see journeys that took months on foot through difficult and even hostile territory. Even when travelers had authority and permission to go, they understood the road itself was perilous and they set themselves to seek God, to fast and pray and ask for His hand upon them before they set out. They knew they needed not only permission to travel but the presence and protection of God for every step.
That same hand of the Lord is still what sustains and guards His people today. As we make our way through this world toward the home He has promised, He strengthens us for the journey and He protects us in the journey. His providential care covers the dangers of the road that we see and those we do not see. He is able to keep and to guide, to watch over our going out and our coming in.
So we pray together for your sister. Father, in the name of Jesus we ask for Your divine protection and guidance over her. Place Your good hand upon her and keep her safe from harm. Give her wisdom and peace on the road, clear direction at every turn, and bring her to her destination safely. We thank You for Your promise to give Your angels charge over Your children to keep them in all their ways, and we ask You to surround her and all who travel with her with that watchful care. Let her sense Your nearness and Your sustaining grace throughout the journey.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithful love and for hearing our prayers. We trust her into Your hands today and give You thanks for all You do for us, in Jesus name, Amen.
