At the same time God in His wisdom often brings healing through the hands of doctors and through proper medicine, so we encourage you to seek care quickly from a trusted clinic, hospital, or doctor. Please do not delay in seeking medical help, and if you are able to speak with your brother or family about help with medicine and treatment, we encourage you to do so with humility and thankfulness. We know you mentioned your brother is brilliant and has much wealth, but we gently remind you that riches are uncertain and our true hope and provision come from God. Do not put your trust in riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 1 Timothy 6:17. And our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and find salvation and true peace. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. Your request has been brought before the Lord with care and tenderness, and we have heard your burden concerning this disease which troubles your body and the damage in your leg, and your desire for medicine and for healing.
We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician for our healing. It is right and wise that you should seek medicine, and we urge you to go without delay to a trusted physician or clinic that you may be examined and receive proper care. For such a disease as you describe and for an injury to the leg, only those who can see you and test and treat you can give you the right medicine, and you should follow their counsel fully. Do not delay in this, and if your brilliant brother is able to help you, it is a mercy of Providence to have such help near at hand, and we pray God will use those means for your good.
Yet there is a greater Physician than any upon earth, and His power to heal reaches both body and soul. It is written that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. His common mercies, His daily grace, His smallest touch is full of virtue. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when Jesus healed the sick He showed that pardon and healing are one, for all spiritual disease receives its deathblow when sin is forgiven.
We therefore pray for you that you may know this double healing. We ask the Lord to lay His gracious hand upon your body, to guide the physicians, to bless the medicine to your recovery, and to give you continued rest and good sleep as a token of His kindness. And we pray still more that you may know the healing of the soul which comes through forgiveness in Jesus Christ alone. He is not like an army surgeon who hurries along, but He comes gently and sympathizingly, and He takes the hand and lifts up. He goes to the very root of our disease, which is sin, and by His cross He crucifies sin and brings atonement. There is no limit to His infinite power, and the utmost length of human sickness can be reached by this great Physician.
Come then with your sickness and your woundedness to Him in faith, confessing your need and trusting wholly in His blood shed at Calvary, for there is the healing balm. Ask to be forgiven, and healing will come from the pardoning hand, whether it be deliverance in this life or perfect wholeness in the life to come. May the Lord sustain you, keep you in His peace by night and by day, and make even this trial to work for your good and His glory.
