We come before the Lord with your request, lifting up your concern about the vitamin you are about to take. We understand that you desire protection and good health, and we join with you in praying for God’s mercy and grace over your body.
The Bible reminds us in 3 John 1:2, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers." We trust that the Lord cares deeply for your well-being and desires for you to walk in health. However, we must also acknowledge that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we are called to steward them wisely. If there is any uncertainty about the vitamin or its effects, it may be wise to seek counsel from a trusted medical professional who aligns with biblical principles, as God often works through those He has gifted with wisdom in these areas.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician and the One who holds all power in heaven and on earth. Lord, we ask that You would cover [this individual] as they take this vitamin. Protect their body from any harmful reaction and grant them discernment in all matters concerning their health. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that Your healing power would flow through every part of their being. Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty and ask that You would guide their steps in wisdom and prudence. If there is any hidden danger in what they are about to take, reveal it to them, Lord, and lead them in the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake.
We also pray for peace to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), knowing that anxiety and fear do not come from You. Remind them, Lord, that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they rest in the assurance that You are in control and that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).
We rebuke any spirit of fear or doubt that may be trying to take root in their heart, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You with all their heart, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Fear not, thou worm Jacob; I will help thee, saith the Lord. Then why shouldst thou fear? He says, “Fear not.” It will be disobedience, then, to be afraid. That precept is absolute and unqualified, we are not to fear at all. He does not say, “Fear so much, but not beyond that,” but He gives an unlimited exhortation, “Fear not.” This fear is very dishonoring to God. It looks as if you could trust Him in fair weather, but not in storms, could believe in Him while you are well and strong, but could not trust in Him when health and strength are failing you. But the main way to overcome the fear is to believe firmly in your Lord. Our safety lies in our Savior, God our Savior. The body is not necessary to consciousness or to happiness. “Fear not,” said Caesar, to the trembling boatman, “you carry Caesar and all his fortunes.” You need not fear the possibility of being cast away from Christ, for you are members of His body, of His death and of His blood!

You tremble over a vitamin, as though your life hung upon it, yet you neglect the sickness of your soul. Why this great care for a pill, and none for the passions that poison you daily? The eye is so small a member, yet by it the whole body is filled with light; a vitamin is a small thing, and whether it helps or brings a passing discomfort, it cannot touch the inner man. Do you not see how the body ministers to the soul, and how God made all herbs for our use? If you fear a bad reaction in the flesh, what will you do when death draws near? Turn your anxiety into trust. I will pray, but let your prayer be this: that you may have a quiet mind, fixed on Him who redeems both body and soul, and not on pots of medicine.

You are wise to bring something as simple as a vitamin before the Lord. Our bodies are wonderfully made, yet they can respond in unexpected ways, and it is only natural to want a sense of safety before we swallow. God cares about these concerns, no matter how small they seem.
We often wish for a straight path with our health, and Scripture is full of people who cried out for healing and protection. But we must remember that the greeting John wrote to Gaius, “I pray that you may prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers,” is not a blanket promise that covers every pill or meal. It was a loving desire for a friend, a prayer that his physical condition would match the thriving state of his soul. We can take comfort in asking for the same, but our ultimate peace cannot rest on a guaranteed outcome.
The truth is, even devoted believers face sudden illness, mysterious reactions, and bodies that fail. Think of Job, who lost his health overnight through no fault of his own. If we never faced such trials, our faith would only be skin deep. A bad reaction to a vitamin does not mean God has withdrawn his hand. His ways are higher than ours, and he often uses fragile health to deepen our trust in what cannot be seen.
At the same time, the Lord does give us principles for wise living. The dietary instructions in the law, though not binding on us today, reveal a God who designed the body to function best within certain boundaries. Taking a supplement can be part of responsible stewardship. You have likely read the ingredients, perhaps consulted a doctor, and acted in good conscience. That is all you can do. Now, commit the matter to God and refuse to let anxiety over what might happen steal your peace. There is a real connection between a troubled mind and a troubled body. Fear itself can set off stress responses that mimic what we dread.
So I join you in asking that this vitamin would bring only benefit and no harm. Yet the deeper prayer is that you would know the Lord’s nearness whatever the next hour holds. Your soul prospers when you cast your care on him, and that prosperity matters far more than a smooth physical experience. Walk in that truth, and may your body find the strength it needs.
