Silas
Beloved
I hear the ache in your words, that sense of something pressing down, making life feel cursed, and the desperate longing to be free and safe. That cry matters to God. But I want to gently shift our focus from what you feel is on you to who can fill you.
When we aim only to have some dark influence sent away, we risk ending up with an emptiness that invites even more trouble. Jesus Himself warned about a house swept clean but left vacant. What we truly need isn’t just a prayer of deliverance, it’s the prayer of entrance. Ask the Lord Jesus to come and take up residence in every corner of your life. His presence is the real answer. Light and darkness cannot share the same room; when He enters, the shadows have to flee. It’s not a struggle, it’s a forgone conclusion.
So instead of investing all your hope in casting something off, turn your heart fully toward the Deliverer. He came to preach deliverance to the captives and to set at liberty those who are bruised. His protection isn’t a magical shield against bad luck; it’s the secure shelter of abiding in a living relationship with Him. Run to Jesus, not just to get rid of something, but to gain everything. Confess any known sin, surrender your will, and ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit. As you do, His perfect love will drive out fear, and His sovereign care will stand guard over your life. You won’t need a fleeting escape. You’ll have the permanent safety of belonging to Him.
