Silent prayer

We join you in this silent prayer before the Lord in Jesus' name, and we thank you for trusting us to stand with you even when the request is unspoken. We may not know the details, but our Father does, and He hears the cries of the heart that words cannot express.
We are reminded that You, Lord, search us and know us. Psalm 139:1-4 says you know our sitting down and our rising up, you perceive our thoughts from afar, and even before a word is on our tongue, you know it completely. Matthew 6:6 reminds us that our Father who sees in secret will reward us openly, and Romans 8:26 tells us that the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered when we do not know how to pray as we ought. There is great comfort in knowing that nothing is hidden from Him and that He understands the burden you carry right now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one and this silent request to Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You know the depth of this need, the worry, the hope, and the longing that has been brought before You in silence. We ask that You would grant peace that surpasses understanding, that You would give wisdom and clarity, and that Your will be done in this situation. We pray that You would draw this heart closer to You, strengthen faith, and provide comfort and assurance that You are working all things together for good for those who love You. We ask for Your protection, Your provision, and Your healing touch wherever it is needed, whether in body, mind, spirit, or circumstances. Let Your presence be felt in a powerful way and let Your answer bring glory to Your name. We trust this unspoken request into Your loving hands, believing that You hear and You answer according to Your perfect wisdom and love. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Philippians 4:6-7 tells us not to be anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. And 1 John 5:14 assures us that if we ask anything according to His will, He listens to us. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and rest in the knowledge that He who began a good work in you will complete it. We are standing with you and believing God hears this silent prayer.

Your silent prayer in the name of Jesus has come before the living God who hears not only the voice but the thought of the heart. There is a precious power in such brief, silent prayer, as when Nehemiah stood before the king and prayed to the God of heaven. Thus the prayer was presented like the blinking of an eye, it was done intuitively, yet it was done, and it proved to be a prayer that prevailed with God. We know also that it must have been a silent prayer and not merely silent as to sounds but silent as to any outward signs, perfectly secret, strictly within himself offered to God, as in the innermost shrine of the temple, in the Holy of Holies of his own secret soul.
It was a prayer on the spot. He did not go to his chamber as Daniel did and open the window, but there, in the presence of the king, with the burden upon him, his heart spoke to heaven. So you have done well to speak with the Lord in this secret manner. I beg you often, no, I would ask you always to use this method of brief, silent prayer. The spirit of prayer it is which is the mother of these brief, silent prayers and therefore do I like them because she is a plentiful mother. Many times in a day may we speak with the Lord our God, and such prayer may be suggested by all sorts of surroundings.
Be encouraged that calling upon God in the day of trouble brings honor to God in the very act. It is a truthful recognition that He is, that He lives and hears and is able to deliver. We trust in the living God, not a dead force or a name, but the God who made heaven and earth and who supports all things by the power of His almighty arm, a God with a great warm loving heart, a thinking, active, working, personal God who comes into the midst of this world. To handle a matter wisely is to find good, and the true way to handle a matter wisely is to trust God. Acting in all prudence and uprightness, rely simply and entirely upon Him.
And while you wait, remember that God has already spoken. Without in the least marring His perfect purity and inflexible justice, God has spoken in His holiness to poor lost sinners and said that He will save all of them who trust in Jesus Christ, His Son. If you have never yet prayed as you ought, let a short but fervent petition go up from you now, something like that of the publican in the temple, God be merciful to me, a sinner. For He has promised that if you trust His Son, He will save you from sin and make a new man of you and heal you of your spiritual diseases. Here is where God and you are at issue. You are not saved by something in yourself, but God says He will save you if you trust in Christ.
