Silent prayer

We join with you in this silent prayer and lift your unspoken request to the Father in Jesus' name, trusting that He hears even what is not spoken aloud.
We are comforted that the Lord knows the depths of our hearts and hears the prayers we hold in silence. As it is written, Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:1-2 and But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Matthew 6:6 We remember Hannah who prayed silently before the Lord, Now Hannah, she spoke in her heart. Only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. 1 Samuel 1:13 and the Lord heard her and answered. We also cling to the promise that In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. Romans 8:26 and This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. 1 John 5:14

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, bringing this dear one and every silent burden, need, and longing that has not been uttered. You know every thought, every tear, every hope and fear even before we speak. We ask that You search this heart and answer according to Your perfect will and mercy. Grant peace that surpasses understanding, grant wisdom, healing, provision, and strength where it is needed most. Let Your will be done in this life as it is in heaven, and let Your presence be felt in this quiet moment. We thank You that we have access to You only through Jesus, and we trust in His name for salvation, grace, and answered prayer. We ask all these things in Jesus' name, amen.

There is great comfort in your silent petition, for we have an example in Nehemiah who, when he stood before the king, offered a brief silent prayer to the God of heaven. It was presented like the blinking of an eye, done intuitively yet truly done, and it prevailed with God. It was strictly within himself, with no outward sound or sign, as in the innermost shrine, the Holy of Holies of his own secret soul. It was a prayer on the spot, without going to a chamber as Daniel did. I beg you often, indeed always, to use this method of brief silent prayer, for the spirit of prayer is the mother of these brief silent prayers and she is a plentiful mother. Many times in a day may we speak with the Lord our God, as all sorts of surroundings may suggest it.
To call upon God in the day of trouble brings honor to Him in the very act, for it is a truthful recognition that He is not a notion but a fact to the suppliant. We trust not in a dead force which men call god, but in the living God who made heaven and earth and supports the whole universe by the power of His almighty arms, a thinking, active, working, personal God with a great warm loving heart, who comes into the midst of this world and hears the whisper that no other ear can hear. Do not be agitated and do not run away to others, but call upon Him in calm faith, and do not sit down in silent despair and fretfulness.
Let your prayer be definite and clear before Him, as Jacob pleaded, O God deliver me, and use the arguments of the covenant. And if you have never prayed before, let this short but fervent petition go up from you as from the publican in the temple, God be merciful to me a sinner. Do not say, Lord I cannot trust Thee unless I feel this or that, for that is to make a god out of your feelings. Consider who Christ is whom we are bid to trust. He is very God of very God and perfect man, who lived a perfect life and never lied, and He has promised that if you trust His Son He will save you from sin and make a new man of you. God has spoken in His holiness that He will save all who trust in Jesus Christ His Son, and what a mighty power your soul will have in prayer if you go to God and say, Do as Thou hast said.
To handle a matter wisely is to trust in God, not to be idle or rash, but acting in all prudence and uprightness to rely simply and entirely upon Him, first being made a child of God through faith in Christ. May the Lord who hears in secret deliver you and be glorified in your conduct afterwards, and quicken you in His way. I join my supplication with yours in that secret place, asking the Father to hear and answer for the sake of Jesus Christ alone, our only hope and Savior.
