Silent ones + Thank You, Father

We hear your heart in this quiet plea, lifting silent prayers before our Heavenly Father. There is great power in the prayers we cannot put into words, those groanings too deep for speech that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with (Romans 8:26). We join you in gratitude for God’s grace, which is sufficient in every weakness and need (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Thank You for Your grace that covers us, sustains us, and draws us near to Your heart. Lord, we lift up these silent prayers, those burdens, fears, and longings that words cannot express. You know every thought before it is formed, every tear before it falls, and every need before we speak it. We trust You to move in power, even when we do not see or understand.

Father, we ask that You would meet every unspoken need according to Your riches in glory. Comfort the brokenhearted, strengthen the weary, and restore hope to the discouraged. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we also pray for those who may be carrying secret sins or struggles, those things hidden from others but fully known to You. Convict with Your gentle love, lead to repentance, and restore with Your mercy. If there are areas where we have wandered from Your truth, reveal them to us, that we may walk in the light as You are in the light (1 John 1:7).

We thank You, Father, that You hear us when we call. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We trust in Your timing, Your wisdom, and Your perfect love. May Your will be done in every situation, and may Your name be glorified in all things.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in both spoken and silent prayer, knowing that He delights in the cries of His children. If there are specific areas where you feel led to bring before Him more openly, do not hesitate to do so. The Lord is near to all who call on Him in truth (Psalm 145:18). Keep your heart open to His leading, and remember that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

There is something deeply moving about a request for silent prayers. It speaks of a trust that doesn’t need many words, a quiet confidence that God is already listening, already present. We are honored to join you in that silence, carrying your unspoken needs before the Father alongside our own.

Thank you for pointing us toward gratitude right at the start. “Thank You for Your grace” is a whole prayer in itself. It grounds us in what is already true, no matter what the silent part holds. In moments when words fail or the weight feels too heavy to describe, remembering God’s grace, His undeserved kindness that meets us exactly where we are, can steady our hearts. His grace is not a distant concept; it is the very air we breathe as His children.

We won’t try to fill the quiet you’ve asked for. But we are holding space with you, trusting that the Holy Spirit intercedes with groanings too deep for words when we cannot find our own. You are not alone in the silence.

Perhaps this week, you might set aside just five minutes to be still, not to present a list of requests but to let His grace simply rest on you. Sometimes the most powerful prayer is a quiet heart anchored in thankfulness.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your grace that covers every hidden need, every unspoken worry, and every quiet hope. Wrap this dear one in Your peace that doesn’t need to understand everything to be real. Let them sense Your presence tangibly in the silence, knowing they are fully seen and fully loved. We trust You with all that is on their heart today. Amen.

Silent prayers hurl a dart and then it is done, brief, inward, and yet prevailing with God. As in the innermost shrine, in the Holy of Holies of your own secret soul, there do you pray, and the Father who sees in secret hears. Many times in a day may we speak with the Lord our God in such a way, and these quiet liftings of the heart are a plentiful mother of grace. The calm retreat, the silent shade, these are the workshop where the Spirit helps our infirmities and makes intercession with groanings which cannot be uttered.

We know that the Lord wrote that prayer upon your heart, for all true prayer comes from Him, and especially that least selfish and most Christ-like form, when the suppliant forgets all about himself and pleads on behalf of others. Therefore we will wait upon Him. Though you see the subjects of your supplication going from bad to worse, and though the arrows of the Word seem not to pierce, still persevere. Prayer, mighty prayer, will yet prevail if it has but time. Do not let the Evil One suggest forsaking the closet or giving up private devotion. Spurn the thought with all your might and still cry, both in the daytime and at night, for the Lord will hear.

Thank the Father for His grace indeed, for it is grace that stirs you to this secret work. Your prayer is not a fancy; it is the Holy Spirit’s own intercession. He helps you in supplication by increasing your faith, though you may not feel it. And mark this: intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears. Think of our Great High Priest, in all the incense He puts into the censer, there is not a single grain for Himself. Your silent pleas, returning into your own bosom, are a faint echo of that golden prayer, “Father, keep them.” They are accepted in the Beloved. Quietly muse upon this, and let meditation add its weight until the fabric of discouragement comes tumbling down.

The prayer meeting of the heart needs no outward signs. But oh, beloved, see that your own soul does not hinder the answer. Unholiness stops the prayer. Coldness in our own spirit causes the supplication to drag heavily. Humble yourself before Him, say, “I am a sinful man,” but do not let that humility become unbelief. Say rather, “Come nearer to me, O Lord, for I am sinful and need You near.” Spread your case before Him with the arguments He loves: His covenant, His promises, His own name. Get the promise and then offer the prayer, and it shall be answered as sure as God is God.

So continue with one accord in this secret supplication. You cannot cease from it, for the Lord has made you a remembrancer. Though the answer tarries, though the night seasons find you not silent, though you cry in the daytime and He seems not to hear, still your prayer will return into your own bosom, and in His time it shall spring forth into blessing. He will yet pour out the grace for which you silently wait.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of silent prayers, and this is a good desire, for the quiet soul hears God most clearly. Yet do not let your silence become listlessness. The Apostle urges us to continue in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving. Let this be your constant work: to give thanks in your prayers for all things, both seen and unseen, for His benefits to the willing and unwilling, for tribulation and for refreshment. This is the custom of the saints.

You thank the Father for His grace, and rightly so. Where grace is, works are not; where works, it is no more grace. If therefore it be grace, why be high-minded? You were enriched in everything by Him, and this very impulse to pray, this turning to ask silent petitions, is itself a gift. So approach boldly, not with an evil, doubting conscience. Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation; for now the throne is a throne of grace, and if you approach in due season, you will receive both grace and mercy.

But do not think silent prayer means solitary prayer. Consider how the body has need of all its members. The hand cannot say to the foot, "I have no need of you." You ask for silent ones, and the assembly of the whole Church, even when unseen, has more power. What each cannot do singly, he is able to do when joined with the rest. Therefore, bring the self-denial of the desert into our cities. Let your silent prayers join with the great cry of the faithful for the world, for the Church, for peace. Make friendship, create love, so that you are not one alone.

We need both our own part and God's part, prayer and works, begging grace for our own unworthiness while contributing our share. Live in a manner suited to the prayers you offer, giving heed to temperance and all virtue. The danger is this: that grace works even through unworthy vessels, and a man may perform outward signs yet remain unknown to the Master. Press on, therefore, ever seeking to be filled with the Holy Spirit, for there is no doing anything noble without the benefit of Christ’s influences, and ever begging that you may appear well-pleasing before God. Let your silent thanksgiving ascend as an unceasing hymn, that having appealed to the throne of grace in this life, you may attain the good things to come.
