Disciple of Prayer
His girlfriend had a stroke, he went to jail for something he didn't do. He was evicted from 2 apartments, furniture thrown away. He's living in his car. Giving up on life.

We hear your cry for help for this man who is facing overwhelming trials, and our hearts are heavy with compassion. The weight of injustice, loss, and despair he is carrying is more than any person should have to bear alone. But we know that our God is a refuge for the broken, a strong tower for the weary, and a righteous judge who sees all things. We lift him up to the Lord in prayer, trusting that He will intervene in ways only He can.

First, we must address the spiritual foundation of this situation. The name of Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father, and it is only through Him that we find true hope, peace, and salvation. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If this man does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw him near and reveal the truth of the Gospel to him. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Now, let us pray for this man’s immediate needs and the burdens he carries:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this man who is enduring so much hardship. Lord, You see his suffering, his wrongful imprisonment, the loss of his home, the abandonment of his possessions, and the despair that threatens to overwhelm him. We ask that You would be his shelter in this storm, his provider in this time of lack, and his strength when he feels he has nothing left. Father, You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that You would draw near to him now, reminding him that he is not alone, even when the world seems to have turned its back on him.

Lord, we ask for Your justice to prevail in his life. You are a God who executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry (Psalm 146:7). We pray that the truth would come to light regarding the charges against him and that any wrongdoing done to him would be exposed and made right. Give him patience and faith to trust in Your timing, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

Father, we also lift up his physical needs. He is living in his car, with no stability or security. We ask that You would open doors for him, provide a safe place to stay, a means to support himself, and the resources he needs to rebuild his life. You are the God who multiplies the little that is offered in faith (Matthew 14:13-21), and we trust that You will meet him in his need. Surround him with Your people, believers who will show him Your love through acts of kindness, encouragement, and practical help.

Lord, we also pray for his girlfriend who has suffered a stroke. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon her, restoring her body, mind, and spirit. Give her strength and hope, and let her recovery be a testimony to Your power and grace. If it is Your will, restore their relationship in a way that honors You, but above all, let Your will be done in both of their lives.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair that is trying to take hold of this man’s heart. The enemy wants him to believe that his situation is hopeless, but we declare that You are the God of hope, and in You, there is always a way forward (Romans 15:13). Fill him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind him that his worth is not defined by his circumstances but by the fact that he is Your beloved creation, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

We also want to gently address the mention of his "girlfriend." If this relationship is not one that honors You as a marriage between one man and one woman, we pray that You would bring conviction and clarity. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman, and any sexual relationship outside of that covenant is not Your design (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this relationship is not aligned with Your Word, we pray that You would lead both of them to repentance and restoration, either through godly marriage or through a season of separation to seek You individually. Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your plans are always for our good (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this season of hardship to draw this man closer to You. Let him experience Your presence in a tangible way, so that he may know You as his Provider, his Protector, and his Peace. May he emerge from this trial with a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may his life bring glory to Your name.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

To this man, we say: Do not give up. The Lord sees you, He hears you, and He has not abandoned you. The psalmist wrote, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God" (Psalm 42:11). Your current circumstances do not define your future. God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20), and He is working even now on your behalf. Hold on to hope, lean on Him, and allow His people to come alongside you in this time. You are not forgotten.

We’re standing with you in this, ###, and we’re so grateful you’ve shared such a heavy burden with us. It’s hard to imagine the weight this man is carrying, wrongful imprisonment, the loss of everything he owns, and the fear of giving up when the world feels so unfair. But we want you to know something: God doesn’t just see the storm, He’s right in the middle of it with him.

We’re praying for a breakthrough in his situation, maybe not in the way he expects, but in a way that points him to Jesus. If he’s still far from the Lord, we’re asking the Spirit to draw him near, to soften his heart in a way that only God can. But even if he’s a believer, we’re asking for His peace to settle over him like a blanket, reminding him that his worth isn’t found in his circumstances or the judgment of others. Let’s pray that God would open doors for him, maybe a kind stranger, a shelter, or a job opportunity, that he wouldn’t have asked for but desperately needs.

And we’re not forgetting his girlfriend. A stroke is terrifying, and we’re praying for her healing, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Let’s ask God to give her strength for each day, to surround her with people who can love her well, and to show her His goodness in this season.

We’re also praying for justice, justice for the wrongs done to him, justice for the truth to come out, and justice for his future. But most of all, we’re praying for his heart to rest in the One who holds all things together. He’s not alone, ###. And neither are you.

We’re declaring over him, and over both of them, that God is their Provider, their Refuge, and their Hope. He’s not finished with them yet. Let’s keep lifting them up, asking for wisdom for those who can help, and trusting that God is working behind the scenes in ways we can’t see.

In Jesus’ name, we hold on to hope.
