Servant of All
We join you together in prayer with thanksgiving for your heart that desires to walk worthy of the Lord and to live under His blessing and protection.

We pray for you as it is written in Colossians 1:9-15, For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don't cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love, in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins. We ask the Father to fill you afresh with this wisdom and understanding and to strengthen you to endure with joy.

We speak over you the priestly blessing from Numbers 6:24-26, Yahweh bless you, and keep you. Yahweh make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. Yahweh lift up his face toward you, and give you peace. We ask the Lord to cause His face to shine upon you and to guard you in His peace this week.

We also intercede as you have asked for a spirit of obedience and a repentant heart through the indwelling Holy Spirit. The Scripture says in John 14:15, If you love me, keep my commandments, and in Acts 5:32, the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him. We ask God to give you both the desire and the power to obey out of love for Jesus, not by your own strength but by the Spirit who dwells in you. For a repentant heart we remember Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise, and 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We pray the Lord keeps your heart tender, quick to confess and turn from sin, and quick to receive His cleansing.

We pray with you to put on the whole armor of God as written in Ephesians 6:10-13, Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. We pray you will daily take up truth, righteousness, the preparation of the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God, and pray in the Spirit on all occasions.

We also plead the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ over your mind, soul and spirit. We thank God for 1 John 1:7, the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin, and Revelation 12:11, They overcame him because of the Lamb's blood. We ask that His blood cover and cleanse your thoughts, guard your mind from the enemy, and keep your whole being blameless before Him.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift our dear fellow believer to You. Fill them with the knowledge of Your will, bless and keep them, make Your face shine upon them and give them peace. By Your Holy Spirit grant them a willing spirit of obedience and a continually repentant heart that loves Your correction. Clothe them in Your armor today and strengthen them to stand. Let the precious blood of Jesus cleanse and protect their mind, soul and spirit, and let their life bear fruit that pleases You. We thank You that You hear us because we come through Jesus alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved. We trust You to do this for Your glory. Amen.

Shalom, thank you for inviting us to keep praying with you. We hear your desire for a tender, repentant heart and a life marked by obedience, and we are honored to stand with you in that.

What encourages us in your request is that you are asking the Holy Spirit himself to do this work in you. A repentant heart is more than feeling sorry in a moment, it is a change of mind that begins to turn us in a new direction, and learning to walk that way takes time. Spiritual growth is gradual, like training over a lifetime, with steady days and harder days. That slow, ongoing process is normal, and the Spirit who dwells in you is the one who makes real change possible as you stay close to the Lord in his Word and in prayer.

One simple rhythm that may help is to continue praying those passages you love in your own words for a few minutes each morning, asking Jesus to cover your mind, soul and spirit and to clothe you for the day, and then watching for one small choice of obedience he puts before you to live out.

Father, we lift our friend to you in Jesus' name. Give a spirit of obedience and keep a heart that quickly turns to you. Plead the shed blood of Jesus over mind, soul and spirit, and strengthen to put on your armor and walk faithfully today. Bless and keep and give your peace. Amen.

Your longing to be filled with the knowledge of His will and to walk worthy of the Lord is itself a token of grace at work within you, for man forgets his God, but God does not forget him. We have heard your request and we do join you in prayer, asking the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to grant what His own Word has promised.

We pray for you as the apostle prayed, according to Colossians 1:9-15, that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you may walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all might according to His glorious power unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness, giving thanks unto the Father who has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, and who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

And we pray over you the ancient blessing of Numbers 6:24-26, that the Lord bless you and keep you, that the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you, that the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, not as the world gives, but as Christ alone can give.

You have asked for a spirit of obedience and a repentant heart, and we ask the Lord through His indwelling Holy Spirit to work both in you. True repentance is always the gift of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in the soul. That godly sorrow which the Spirit produces is the sure attendant of saving faith, and leads the soul by the watergate of contrition to the feet of Jesus. And obedience which God can accept never comes out of a heart which thinks God a liar, but is worked in us by the Spirit through believing the truth and grace of our God in Christ Jesus. Faith is the morning star of obedience. We pray therefore not for the obedience of a slave who is tuned to the crack of the whip, but for the obedience of a child, the obedience of love and not of terror, wholehearted and complete, prompt as was Abraham who went out not knowing whither he went, yet trusting Him who called him. May the Lord renew your heart so that it admires the whole character of God, for the heart is the seat of blindness and to the heart the light must come. May He give you a new heart and a right spirit, that you may give Him your heart at once, freely and thoroughly, for a heart that is halved is killed.

We pray also that you may be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, putting on the whole armour of God according to Ephesians 6:10-13, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil and having done all, to stand. The path of obedience is the path of safety and of happiness, and that armour is found not in our own resolution but in Christ Himself, His truth, His righteousness, His gospel of peace, His salvation held fast by faith, and His Word wielded by the Spirit.

And as you have asked to plead the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ over your mind, soul and spirit, we plead nothing else but that precious blood which is the ground of our redemption. It is by that blood we have forgiveness, by that blood we have peace with God, and by that blood we are kept. We ask that the mind of Christ may guard your thoughts, that your soul may rest in His finished work, and that your spirit may rejoice in Him who says, My son, give me thine heart.

May the Lord hear this prayer, keep you, teach you His statutes, and cause you to live in God and on God and with God, to His glory. Amen.
