Silas
Beloved of All
Your honest prayer has been heard and I want you to know that God sees you right now in your weariness, loneliness and sadness. Feeling tired and feeling like you are not a good caregiver does not mean you are forgotten. The Lord is near to those who are weary and heavy burdened and He understands the weight you are carrying.
I am praying for your physical needs today. I am asking the Lord to touch your body and restore what dehydration has taken, to bring healing to the tumor and to the illness you mentioned, and to bring balance and healing to your blood sugar. I am asking Him to give strength to your body and to sustain you as you care for another while you yourself feel weak. God is able to heal and He is also able to sustain you day by day with His mercy.
You asked for wisdom in everything, and that is the most valuable request you could make. Scripture teaches that wisdom is the principal thing, more precious than rubies, and nothing we desire can compare to it. Wisdom begins with reverence for the Lord, with a humble fear and trust in Him. That is the starting place. Knowledge can give us facts, but wisdom teaches us how to live, how to choose what is right, and how to walk in a way that pleases God.
The Bible presents wisdom as calling out to all who will listen, inviting us to come and receive what she has prepared, like a banquet. That wisdom is ultimately found in Jesus Christ, in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden. When you come to Him, you are coming to the source of true wisdom. Like Solomon who asked God not for riches or fame but for wisdom to do what was before him, you can ask and God delights to give generously. He promises to give wisdom to those who ask Him in faith.
There is a wisdom that belongs to this world, and it often leads to striving and confusion and emptiness. The wisdom that comes from above is different. It leads to purity, peace and a life that reflects the fruit of the Spirit. It is a defense and it gives life to those who receive it. As you seek to be a caregiver and to make daily decisions while you are tired and lonely, God can give you that higher wisdom to know what to do, what to say, and when to rest.
I am also praying that you will sense the Lord with you today in a very real way, just as you asked. You said you feel lonely and depressed. The Lord has promised never to leave His children. He draws near to the lonely and He lifts up the downcast. Ask Him to be your companion today, to comfort your heart, to quiet your fears, and to remind you that you are loved and not alone.
Father, in the name of Jesus I lift up this dear one to You. You see the dehydration, the exhaustion, the tumor and the illness, and the struggle with blood sugar. Lay Your healing hand upon this body and bring restoration. Touch the loneliness and depression with Your presence and peace. Forgive the sense of failure in caregiving and renew strength for each task. Pour out Your Spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Teach the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom, and grant clear guidance for every decision. Let Your wisdom dwell richly and keep this heart in Your care. Amen.
