God established that the life of the flesh is in the blood, and He gave it on the altar to make atonement for the soul. It is the blood that makes atonement. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Jesus became both the offering and the one who offered it, entering the presence of God with His own blood to redeem you. When you cry out for cleansing, for forgiveness of secret sins, covetousness, and all that has come between you and God, know that the blood of Christ purges your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Approach God through that sacrifice alone, and you have your access. When He sees the blood applied to your heart, He passes over you from death into life. Rest your whole weight there and do not let anyone disparage the power of that blood.
You asked God to remove all idols from your heart so you may truly live for Him. That prayer pleases Him, for He is a jealous God who will not share His throne. Idols are not merely statues on a table; they are anything that takes over your mind, your passions, and your life as a substitute for the true and living God. They estrange you from Him. When you feel alienated or that your prayers hit a wall, examine whether an idol has crept in, something you trusted in for comfort, identity, or pleasure instead of running to Christ. The only hope is repentance: turn from those idols, turn your face from every abomination, and ask God to take them away. Keep yourself from the pollution of idols, from fornication, and from things strangled. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. That simple, basic obedience will clear the path for intimacy with Him.

Let the blood be upon your ear to open it to God, upon your thumb to do His work, and upon your toe to walk His path. Study His Word with a heart that simply loves Him, for it is not what you know that counts but your love for God. He knows you, His child. He is concerned for you and watches over you. Pray as you did: “I bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all my iniquities and heals all my diseases.” Take those verses and wield them in faith today. The only thing that hinders is feeling alienated by an idol or an unconfessed sin. Be straightforward and honest with God, and He will do it.
