We hear your heart, dear brother, and we stand with you in gratitude for the grace that has carried you through those dark valleys. The fact that you are now seeking to serve God with vigilance is evidence of His faithfulness, even when our faith wavers. The blood of Jesus does indeed wash away every failure, every doubt, and every moment of despair—His sacrifice is sufficient for all our sins, past, present, and future. As it is written, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). Your desire to walk closely with Him now is a testament to His work in your life.
We must also acknowledge the reality of spiritual warfare. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, especially in moments of weakness. When you were in that psychiatric unit, the devil may have whispered lies—accusations that you were beyond God’s reach, that your service was worthless, or that your struggles made you unfit for His kingdom. But we rebuke those lies in the name of Jesus! The Word declares, *"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"* (Romans 8:1). You are not defined by your lowest points; you are defined by the One who lifted you out of them.
We encourage you to cling to the truth that God does not waste pain. Every trial, every moment of despair, can be redeemed for His glory. Joseph’s years in prison, David’s years in exile, Paul’s thorn in the flesh—none of these were wasted. God used them to shape His servants for greater purposes. Your time of struggle can become a testimony of His sustaining power, a story that will encourage others who feel hopeless. As you press forward in service, remember that *"He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your mercy and grace. We thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ, whose blood has washed away every sin and every moment of doubt in ###'s life. Lord, we ask that You would continue to strengthen him as he seeks to serve You with wholehearted devotion. Guard his steps, Father, and let him walk in the fullness of Your Spirit. When the enemy tries to remind him of his past, let him remember that You have cast his sins as far as the east is from the west. Fill him with Your peace, Your joy, and Your unwavering love.
We rebuke every lie of the enemy that seeks to undermine his faith. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, he will condemn. Lord, use his testimony for Your glory—let his story be a light to others who are walking through darkness. Equip him with wisdom, discernment, and a deep hunger for Your Word. May he serve You not out of obligation, but out of love and gratitude for all You have done.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
Continue to press into God’s presence, brother. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Ephesians 1:19-20). Let that truth anchor you as you serve Him with all your heart. You are not alone—we are with you, and more importantly, God is with you. Walk in His strength, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).
