We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, trusting in His sovereign care and healing power. It is a comfort to see that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence. As Scripture reminds us, *"All things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them"* (Mark 11:24, WEB). We stand in faith with you, believing that God will protect your son from harm and bring restoration to his body.
The fear of side effects from medication is a heavy burden, but we are called to cast all our anxieties upon the Lord, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Let us remember that our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician, the One who formed your son in the womb and knows every detail of his body. *"For I am Yahweh, your God, who holds your right hand, who says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I will help you’"* (Isaiah 41:13, WEB). We pray that this injection would be a tool in God’s hands to bring healing and relief, without causing any lasting harm.
At the same time, we encourage you to seek wisdom in this situation. If you have not already, consult with trusted medical professionals and also ask the Lord for discernment. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB). Trust that God can guide the hands of the doctors and direct the course of this treatment for your son’s good.
We also urge you to continue covering your son in prayer, not just for physical healing, but for his spiritual well-being. If he does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw him closer to the One who loves him more than anyone ever could. *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16, WEB). There is no greater peace than knowing that our lives—and the lives of our children—are held securely in the hands of our Savior.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. Lord, we lift up this precious son to You, asking for Your divine protection over his body as he receives this medication. We pray that You would guard him from any serious side effects and that this treatment would bring the healing and relief that is needed. Father, we trust in Your goodness and Your power to work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28, WEB).
Give wisdom to the doctors and all those involved in his care. Let them be instruments of Your mercy and healing. We also ask that You would strengthen this mother’s faith and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7, WEB). Remind her that You are near, that You see her son’s need, and that You are working even in ways we cannot see.
Lord, if this son does not yet know You, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself through this trial. Let him experience Your love in a tangible way and come to place his trust in Jesus Christ as his Savior. May this family grow deeper in their reliance on You and find their hope firmly anchored in Your promises.
We rebuked any fear or anxiety that would try to take hold, declaring that *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). We stand in faith, believing that You are at work, and we give You all the glory for what You will do. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
