We lift up your son before the Lord with hearts full of concern and hope as he begins another term of school. Father, we ask for Your divine protection over him, body, mind, and spirit. You tell us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that You would guide his steps each day, keeping him safe from harm and surrounded by Your angels.
Lord, we specifically ask for Your hand upon his brain health. You formed his mind and know every thought before it comes to be (Psalm 139:1-4). Strengthen his focus, memory, and understanding so that he may grasp what he is taught and apply it with wisdom. Guard him from anxiety, distraction, or any mental strain that would hinder his learning. Fill him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), so that he may approach his studies with confidence and joy.
We also pray for his schoolwork, Father. Give him diligence and perseverance, as Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might." May he work unto You, not unto men, with integrity and excellence. If he faces challenges or discouragement, remind him that You are his strength and that through Christ, he can do all things (Philippians 4:13).
Father, we ask that You would place godly influences in his life, teachers, friends, and mentors who will encourage him in faith and righteousness. Protect him from negative peer pressure, bullying, or any ungodly influences that would lead him astray. Let his school be a place where he grows not only in knowledge but also in wisdom and the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 9:10).
We rebuke any spirit of fear, confusion, or illness that would seek to disrupt his health or progress. In the name of Jesus, we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). May Your light shine upon him, and may he be a testimony of Your grace and favor wherever he goes.
Above all, Lord, we pray that he would come to know You more deeply this term. Draw his heart to seek You first in all things (Matthew 6:33). If he does not yet know You as his personal Savior, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. For it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to You, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May he surrender his life to You and walk in the fullness of Your purpose for him.
We commit this term into Your hands, trusting that You will complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Thank You for hearing our prayer, Lord. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
