Please let this all workout for my husband for me. I am so afraid of the poor choices he has made and his expectation. It is sad and unfortunate. Please protect me and have the ability and means to make everything right for all of us.

We hear the fear and distress in your heart, dear sister, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. Your marriage is sacred, a covenant before God, and we lift it up to Him, trusting in His power to restore, heal, and redeem. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." You do not carry this burden alone; the Lord sees your tears and hears your cries.

First, we must address the root of this fear. Poor choices often stem from a place of spiritual weakness or deception, and we rebuke any influence of the enemy that may be clouding your husband’s judgment. James 1:14-15 warns, "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, produces death." If his choices involve sin, whether financial, moral, or relational, we pray for conviction and repentance. The Lord disciplines those He loves (Hebrews 12:6), and we trust He will bring correction in a way that leads to restoration.

You also mention his expectations, which may be placing undue pressure on you or the marriage. Ephesians 5:25 calls husbands to love their wives "just as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it." If his expectations are selfish or unbiblical, we pray for a transformation of his heart to reflect Christ’s sacrificial love. Marriage is a partnership of mutual submission (Ephesians 5:21), not a one-sided demand.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage to Your mighty hands. Lord, You see the fear and the pain, and You promise in Isaiah 41:10 to strengthen and help us. We ask for Your protection over this sister, guard her heart, her mind, and her spirit. Provide her with the means and wisdom to navigate this trial, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, fill her (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and confusion that may be influencing her husband. Soften his heart to Your truth, and let him turn from any sin that is harming their marriage. If there is unrepentance, we ask for Your discipline to bring him back to You. If there is pride, humble him. If there is deception, open his eyes to Your light.

Lord, we declare that this marriage is Yours, a covenant You established. We pray for restoration, for healing, and for a renewed commitment to Your design. Let them both seek You first (Matthew 6:33), and let their union reflect Your love and grace. Give this sister the strength to stand firm in faith, trusting that You work all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

Sister, we encourage you to cling to Psalm 56:3, "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you." Fear does not come from God (2 Timothy 1:7), but He uses even our hardest moments to draw us closer to Him. Seek godly counsel, whether through your church, trusted mentors, or biblical resources, to help you navigate this season. And remember: Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

You are not alone. The Lord is your refuge (Psalm 46:1), and He will sustain you. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep standing on His promises.

It is a terrible, helpless feeling when the person you should be able to trust most makes choices that leave you scared and unsteady. The weight you’re carrying right now, the worry over what he’s done, what he expects, and the fallout that could land on all of you, is a genuinely heavy one. We’re so sorry you’re in this place.

Sometimes fear like this isn’t just an overreaction; it’s a signal that something in your life does need a measure of practical protection and stability. While we pray for your husband and for God to work in his life, one of the most loving things you can do right now is take a step to steady your own footing. If his choices involve serious financial, legal, or relational danger, you don’t have to sort through it alone or simply hope it fixes itself. We’d gently urge you to talk privately with someone you trust, a pastor, a wise friend, or even a licensed counselor, who can help you see the full picture clearly and figure out what boundaries or practical steps might be needed to keep you and your family safe and well. God uses people like that as a steady shelter when our own thoughts are swirling.

For now, please know you do not have to have all the answers. You are not responsible for managing outcomes only God can hold. We are praying that in the middle of this frightening fog, you would feel His nearness in a very concrete way, not just a vague hope, but a real sense that He sees you and is with you.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this dear woman to You. You see the fear that has gripped her heart because of her husband’s poor decisions. Wrap her in Your peace that doesn’t make sense in the moment but holds steady underneath the storm. Protect her, spirit, mind, and body. Give her clear wisdom, and bring the right people alongside her so she does not bear this alone. Where her husband’s choices have caused harm, intervene and provide whatever is needed. In Your strong name, Jesus, we ask these things. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Fear not, for this command is from the Lord Himself. It is not the preacher who cries "Fear not," but Jesus who whispers to His poor servant, fallen as dead at His feet, "Fear not: fear not." To be afraid is disobedience, for fear dishonors God. Does it not look as if you could trust Him in fair weather but not in storms? He says, "Fear not, I will help thee." You are a worm, but do not fear; God will help you. Why should you fear? Fear is weakening; it finds food within and without. But we are commanded absolutely, "Fear not. Be not dismayed." Look into your Savior's breast, for mercy is all that's written there.

You are afraid of the poor choices your husband has made, and his expectations. It is sad, indeed, but trust Jesus with it all. Do not say you must feel a certain way before you trust. Trust Him as you sink and you shall swim. Trust Him as you feel yourself dying and you shall live. I could trust Him with a million souls; surely He is able to save all who trust Him. Trust Him now!

Remember Peter. He fell dreadfully, denying his Lord with oaths, and that through fear of man. Yet the Lord turned and looked upon him, and that look broke his heart. Peter was down, but he was soon up again. The story of Peter's restoration sets forth the greatness of our Redeemer's saving power. Even after such a fall, he was restored, and became the man to speak of the love of Jesus to poor wanderers. He could say, "Do not trust yourself; remember how I talked? I had to be brought down. But come back to Him, there is such peace, such rest with Him. Never, never go away again."

If your husband has wandered into poor choices, there is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. Do not refuse the pardon that the Lord Jesus Christ presents to all who trust Him. He can make everything right. He will take away the heart of stone and restore the joy of early days. You may yet have cause to praise and magnify the Lord for His great mercy. But you must not let fear hold you in bondage. Fear not the loss of outward good; He will provide. He gives supplies of daily food and all you need beside. Trust wholly to your Master, but never trust in yourself. And if you feel your own dryness, cry to the Master to look on your poor heart and give it feeling.

I trust that if any have fallen, they may get such a restoration from the Lord Himself that they become better Christians ever afterwards. So fear not. Away with sad doubt and anxious fear! Trust Him now, and you shall prove that He is faithful.

Your fear is the very thing you must first master, for it is not poverty, not your husband’s poor choices, nor any outward trouble that truly threatens you, but the frailty of your own heart. Account these circumstances to be nothing to fear, and they will cease to have power over you. The danger lies not in the choices he has made, but in your imagining that your safety depends on them. If you practice self-command and fix your hope firmly on God, even poverty can become a fountain of blessings.

Do not imagine that by fretting or by scheming you can secure your own protection. The wife was given to the husband as a helpmate, and the bond is lifelong; but your subjection to him is not meant to bind you to his folly or sin. You are bound to him in the flesh, yet your soul belongs to Christ. Let your conduct be marked by gentleness, meekness, and modesty. These are the ornaments that please God, and they alone can truly influence a wayward husband. Outward anxiety and extravagant efforts to control him will only breed bitterness; a quiet and chaste spirit may yet win him without a word.

Look to the woman at the well. She had five husbands, and the man she then lived with was not her husband. Christ did not strike her down, nor did He leave her in her shame. He knew all, and still offered her living water. So too, He knows your husband’s wanderings and your sorrow. Cast yourself upon that mercy. Pray for him, certainly, but pray still more that your own heart be made humble and contrite, for the poor in spirit are blessed.

Cease from terror and clamor. The Lord is not deaf to the silent groan of a faithful wife. If you seek first His righteousness, all else will be ordered as He sees fit. Do not demand that He make everything right according to your design; trust that He is able to bring good out of confusion. Your true protection is not a change in your husband’s ways, but a soul anchored in the fear of God rather than the fear of man.

The fear you are carrying is heavy, and I want you to know that God sees every detail of what you are facing. The poor choices of another person can feel like a wave crashing over you, leaving you powerless and afraid. But the One who made you is not distant from your distress. In the beginning, marriage was designed as a place of safety and oneness, a lifelong shelter where two people become one flesh and there is no shame. When that shelter is threatened by foolishness or hard hearts, it is a deep sorrow, and God does not brush that aside.

Your husband’s choices are his own, and his expectations may be twisted by the same hardness that causes a person to blame others for their own failings, much like that first man in the garden who pointed at the wife God gave him. But you are not defined by his sin, nor are you left without a protector. Scripture shows again and again that God has a special tenderness for those who are vulnerable and oppressed. The poor, the widow, the one who has no advocate, He commands His people to care for them, and He promises to be their defender Himself. When money was lent to the poor, no interest was to be charged. When crops were harvested, the edges were left for the hungry. The Lord hears the cry of the frightened, and He will not turn a deaf ear.

It may be that your husband’s heart is hardened against God’s beautiful design, and if he refuses to live in the peace and faithfulness of that design, you are not chained to his destruction. Even in the law, when a man’s heart was so hard that he could not rise to God’s plan, there was a way of release, not because divorce is good, but because God cares for the person being crushed. The apostle Paul was clear: if an unbelieving spouse chooses to leave, the believer is not in bondage. You are not required to absorb endless damage without recourse.

Yet I hear that you are asking for things to be made right for all of you, and that is a cry God understands. He is in the business of redemption, of raising up what seems dead. I think of Naomi, who lost everything through circumstances she could not control, and yet God provided a kinsman redeemer who restored her family and her hope. Whether the redemption you long for comes through a transformed heart in your husband or through God clearing a different path for your safety and future, He has the ability and the means. The rich and the poor meet together on level ground before Him, and there is no advantage given to the powerful who misuse their position. He will plead the cause of the afflicted.

So pour out your fear honestly to the Lord. Ask Him for wisdom like the prudent person who sees danger ahead and takes shelter. Ask Him to be your provider and your shield. And rest in this: He does not reproach you for your fear. He is near to the brokenhearted. Whatever hard results come from your husband’s choices, God can gather up the fragments and provide for you. You are not forgotten, and your cry has reached the ears of the One who will one day make all things right.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to lift your heartfelt concerns to the Lord. It was our privilege to stand with you in prayer, interceding for your husband, your marriage, and the fear that has weighed so heavily on your spirit. We asked our Heavenly Father to intervene in the poor choices that have brought sadness and uncertainty, and to surround you both with His wisdom, grace, and protection. We prayed specifically that He would shield you from harm, provide the means to make things right, and restore peace and hope to your home.

If God has moved in ways you can already see—if answers have come, if burdens have been lifted, or if His peace has begun to replace your fear—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a source of strength and encouragement to others walking a similar path. On the other hand, if the situation remains unresolved or the fear still lingers, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to continue standing with you, lifting your needs before the throne of grace, and believing with you for God’s perfect will to unfold in your lives.

May the Lord bless you with His presence and reassurance as you seek Him. May He draw near to you in this season, filling you with His peace that surpasses all understanding. We continue to pray that He will work all things together for your good, according to His purpose, and that you will experience His faithfulness in ways that deepen your trust in Him. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
