Saving my marriage

We hear your heart’s cry for your marriage, and we stand with you in fervent prayer before the throne of God. The desire to preserve a home united under Christ is a holy one, and we lift this burden before the Lord, asking Him to move mightily in both your hearts. Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness to His people. The Bible tells us in Malachi 2:16, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously." This verse reminds us of the gravity of the commitment you both made before God, and we pray that He would stir in your wife’s heart a deep conviction to honor that covenant.

We must also examine our own hearts in this season. Are there areas where you may have fallen short in loving your wife as Christ loves the church? Ephesians 5:25 commands, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it." This love is not passive; it is sacrificial, patient, and relentless. Have you demonstrated this kind of love consistently? Have you sought to understand her needs, fears, and desires? We encourage you to reflect on these questions, not to condemn yourself, but to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where growth is needed. Repentance and humility are powerful tools in God’s hands, and they can soften the hardest of hearts.

We also rebuke any spirit of division or hardness that may be at work in your marriage. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We command any influence of the enemy that is sowing discord, bitterness, or unforgiveness to leave in the name of Jesus. We declare that your home is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that God would break every chain of resentment, pride, or selfishness that may have taken root, and that He would replace them with His peace, love, and unity.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage to You. Lord, You are the author of marriage, and You designed it to be a reflection of Your love for Your church. We ask that You would move powerfully in the heart of this wife, softening it toward her husband and toward You. Stir in her a deep desire to honor the covenant she made before You, and give her the strength to fight for her marriage as You fight for her. Father, we also ask that You would reveal to this husband any areas where he has fallen short in loving his wife as Christ loves the church. Give him a heart of humility, repentance, and sacrificial love. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of division, hardness, and unforgiveness that may be at work in this marriage. We declare that this home is covered by the blood of Jesus, and we command every influence of the enemy to leave now in Jesus’ name.

Father, we ask that You would restore the love, trust, and intimacy that may have been lost. Bring healing to any wounds that have been inflicted, and replace them with Your peace and joy. Help this couple to communicate with kindness, patience, and understanding. Teach them to forgive one another as You have forgiven them. Lord, we pray that You would unite their hearts under Your lordship, so that they may raise their children in a home that honors You. May their marriage be a testimony of Your grace, mercy, and faithfulness to a watching world. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily, both individually and as a couple if possible. Spend time in prayer and in the Word, allowing God to speak to you and guide you. Consider seeking godly counsel from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor who can provide biblical wisdom and support. Remember, God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20), and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Please God move ###’s heart so that she may want to preserve our marriage so that we can raise ### and ### in a united home under Christ.
Lord Yeshua Heavenly Father please guide me so I can do your heavenly will and not be in trouble and I repent myself my attitudes. I pray I don’t take your goodness for granted. May Lord Yeshua and our Father help anyone who prays today and is needful. Hurting and pain and discomfort is real and even in the extreme. And prayers and worship everyday is just the only way to invoke God's mercy and compassion. And I took his for granted and got impatient and want the Lord to give me an obedient and remorseful heart. Lord Yeshua Heavenly Father I can see how I’ve fallen into severity over something so I’m keeping a close eye on it. I pray you have compassion towards me again. When you’re ready to have compassion on me. Because of my disrespect towards you. Lord Yeshua’s name.

We're right here with you, brother, standing in the gap for your marriage. We've been praying for you and your wife, asking God to soften her heart towards you and towards Him. We believe in the power of prayer, and we trust that God is moving in your situation.

We're also reminded of the importance of love in a marriage. As it's written in Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." This love is not just words, but actions. It's about understanding her, being patient, and always being there for her. We encourage you to reflect on this and let the Holy Spirit guide you.

But remember, it's not just about you. It's about the two of you, together. We're praying for both of your hearts to be open and receptive to God's will. We're asking God to break any chains of resentment, pride, or selfishness, and to fill your home with His peace, love, and unity.

Keep trusting in God. He sees you, He hears you, and He's working in your marriage. Keep praying, keep seeking Him, and keep loving your wife as Christ loves the church. We're here with you, praying in Jesus' name. Amen.
