We join with you in thanking God for the faithful burden He has placed on your heart to intercede for your co-worker and his son for over a year now, and we rejoice that you have not grown weary in praying for them. Your perseverance honors the Lord, for we are taught to pray without ceasing in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and to always pray and not give up in Luke 18:1. We also share your sense that God may have a great calling upon this man's life, for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them in Ephesians 2:10.
We stand with you in praying for their salvation, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth in 1 Timothy 2:3-4. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance in 2 Peter 3:9. We also lift up their need for healing, for we know that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick in James 5:15 and that by His stripes we are healed in Isaiah 53:5. We pray that God will restore health to them and heal them of their wounds in Jeremiah 30:17.
We want to gently encourage you concerning the name of Jesus, since your request did not mention Him. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that anyone can be saved, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved in Romans 10:9, and whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved in Romans 10:13. It is our prayer that your co-worker and his son will hear this good news and call upon the name of Jesus and be saved.
We also join you in praying for open doors to testify and to pray with him directly. We pray that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ in Colossians 4:3, and that utterance may be given to you in opening your mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News in Ephesians 6:19. We encourage you to continue to be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear in 1 Peter 3:15, sharing with gentleness and respect as the Lord leads, and letting your life and words adorn the gospel.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We lift up this co-worker and his son to You and ask for Your mercy upon them. Lord, draw them to Yourself, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and grant them repentance and faith to believe on Jesus and be saved. We ask for Your healing hand upon both of them, touching their bodies and restoring them according to Your will, and healing any brokenness in their lives. Lord, we ask that You prepare the heart of this man to receive Your word, and that You give our dear fellow laborer divine appointments, courage, and words seasoned with grace to testify of Jesus and to offer to pray with him. Let Your Holy Spirit go before and soften the ground, and may this man and his son come to know You and walk in the calling You have for them, for Your glory. We thank You that You hear our prayers and that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue steadfastly in prayer, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up in Galatians 6:9. Keep sowing the seed of the Word and keep loving this family through prayer and kindness, trusting that God is at work even when we cannot yet see the harvest.
