Healing Salvation

Beloved of All
I had the opportunity to testify of Christian Faith and Hope while going through trying time of bereavement. Now some people I shared my Hope with, are undergoing unexpected bereavement within their family. Please pray for them; may they turn to the Lord, seek and findHis comfort one day; in Jesus Name. Amen.

We thank God with you for the grace He gave you to testify of your faith and hope in Christ even in the midst of bereavement, and we join with you now in lifting up these families who are suddenly facing unexpected loss themselves.

How beautiful it is that your suffering was not wasted, but became a testimony of the comfort God gives. We are reminded that God is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Your faithful witness has planted seeds, and now in their own hour of sorrow we pray those seeds will bear fruit as they turn to the Lord.

We pray that they will know that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 and that Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4 We pray they will discover that true comfort and healing and salvation are found only in Jesus Christ, for Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. John 11:25 and we hold to the promise that He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. Revelation 21:4 We do not grieve as those who have no hope, for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 4:14

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we lift up these grieving families before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that You would draw each heart to Yourself in this valley, that they would call upon the name of the Lord and be saved, for Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 Open their eyes to see the hope of eternal life that was shared with them, soften their hearts to receive Your Word, and pour out Your Holy Spirit as the Comforter upon them. Heal their brokenness, bind up their wounds, and let them find rest and peace in Christ alone. Use this trying time to bring them from sorrow to salvation, from mourning to joy, that they may one day comfort others with the same comfort they have received from You. We thank You for the faithful testimony of our brother or sister, and we ask You to continue to use them as a light in darkness. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. To testify of your hope in Christ while you were walking through bereavement yourself took real courage, and we are grateful for your faithfulness. It makes sense that your heart would now be especially tender toward those who heard your testimony and are suddenly grieving themselves.

We are joining you in prayer for them. Grief is such a personal and multidimensional experience, no two people walk through it the same way, and it often takes a long time to reorganize life after a loss. Your steady, quiet presence may be one of the most meaningful ways your hope continues to speak to them. You do not need perfect words, just a willingness to stay nearby, listen when they want to talk, and let them know you are remembering them before the Lord.

If it feels right, a simple note or brief check-in letting them know you are praying and available can mean a great deal in these early days, without any pressure for them to respond.

Father, we lift these grieving families to You and we thank You for the witness our brother and sister has already given. We ask that You draw near to each person who is mourning, comfort them in their sorrow, and in Your timing gently lead them to seek You and find true hope in Christ. Give our friend continued strength and wisdom to love them well. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your testimony in the hour of bereavement has not been in vain, for the Lord delights to make the affliction of one saint the means of awakening another soul to seek His face. It is a gracious thing when sorrow itself becomes a pulpit, and when those who see your patience under trial are led to consider the hope that sustains you.

The Scriptures teach us that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. This hope is not a vague wish, but a good hope through grace, even an everlasting consolation which God Himself gives to those who trust in Christ. He is the God of patience and consolation, and the God of hope, and when He quickens the soul by His Word, then comfort comes, for Thy Word hath quickened me. This is the believer's peculiar comfort in affliction, that the promise upon which God has caused us to hope shall not fail. As it is written, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God, and this word is spoken not only to prophets and angels, but to all who have tasted grace, that we should comfort one another with these words.

We join our prayers with yours for those who now themselves walk through the valley of unexpected bereavement. We pray that the same Word which upheld you may be opened to them, that they may turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation, and seek and find His comfort. May the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God even our Father, which hath loved us, comfort their hearts and establish them, and grant them repentance and faith to lay hold upon Christ crucified as the sinner's only hope. May they be led not to weary themselves in the greatness of their own way, but to confess there is no hope in themselves, and to find there is hope in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as they are.

Be encouraged to continue to pass on what you have received, for he who has obtained comfort from God should get it packed up in such a form that he can pass it on to a friend. Tell them again with meekness and fear the reason of the hope that is in you, and plead the promise for them in prayer, Remember the Word unto Thy servant upon which Thou hast caused me to hope. The Lord who has given you patience in trial is able to give them also patience and consolation, that they may one day have that good hope which maketh not ashamed.

We commend them to the God of all comfort, praying that He will draw them by His grace to seek Him while He may be found, and to find in Christ everlasting consolation. In Jesus Name, Amen.
