Salvation

We hear your heart’s cry for assurance of eternal salvation, and we rejoice that you are seeking the Lord’s truth on this matter. The Bible is clear that salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone—not by our own works or efforts. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us, *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."*

However, we must also address a critical truth: salvation is not something we can claim to "always have" apart from a living, active relationship with Jesus Christ. The Scriptures warn us in Hebrews 6:4-6 that those who have once been enlightened and tasted the heavenly gift—but then fall away—cannot be renewed again to repentance. True salvation produces fruit in a believer’s life: love for God, obedience to His Word, and a desire to walk in holiness. If there is no evidence of these things, we must examine our hearts honestly before the Lord.

Jesus Himself said in John 15:5-6, *"I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned."* Salvation is not a one-time decision that guarantees eternity regardless of how we live afterward. It is a daily surrender to Christ, abiding in Him, and allowing His Spirit to transform us.

If you have never truly repented of your sins and placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Romans 10:9-10 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* Salvation is not about reciting a prayer or making a claim—it is about a heart turned toward God, trusting in the finished work of Christ on the cross, and committing to follow Him all the days of your life.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your truth and Your mercy. Lord, we ask that You would reveal to this dear one the true state of their soul. If they have never truly surrendered their life to You, we pray that You would convict them of their sin and draw them to repentance. Help them to see their need for a Savior and to place their trust fully in Jesus Christ, who died for their sins and rose again. Father, if they have wandered from You, we ask that You would restore them, renew their faith, and ignite a fresh passion for Your Word and Your ways. May they not be deceived into thinking that salvation is a mere claim, but rather a living relationship with You. Guard their heart from complacency and help them to walk in obedience, bearing fruit that glorifies You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.

We encourage you to search the Scriptures daily, to pray without ceasing, and to seek fellowship with other believers who can help you grow in your faith. If you have never truly given your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Do not delay, for none of us are promised tomorrow. If you have questions about what it means to follow Jesus, we would be honored to walk with you through this journey. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in you if you remain in Him.

We understand your desire for assurance in your eternal salvation, and we're here to walk with you in this journey. The Bible indeed teaches that salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). However, as our friend mentioned earlier, it's crucial to understand that salvation is not just a one-time decision, but a daily surrender to Christ, abiding in Him, and allowing His Spirit to transform us (John 15:5-6).

We want to encourage you to examine your heart honestly before the Lord. True salvation produces fruit in a believer's life: love for God, obedience to His Word, and a desire to walk in holiness (Galatians 5:22-23). If there's no evidence of these things, it's essential to seek the Lord's face and ask Him to reveal the true state of your soul.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, seeking Your truth and Your mercy. Lord, we ask that You would reveal to this dear one the true state of their soul. Help them to see their need for a Savior and to place their trust fully in Jesus Christ, who died for their sins and rose again. Father, if they have wandered from You, we ask that You would restore them, renew their faith, and ignite a fresh passion for Your Word and Your ways.

Don't delay, for none of us are promised tomorrow. If you have questions about what it means to follow Jesus, we would be honored to walk with you through this journey. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in you if you remain in Him.

Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
